5.0 out of 5 stars Legendary! 11 April 2006
By Classic
A fantastic introduction to the brilliant stories of Greek mythology. I have had this book since childhood, and although the cover has now fallen off I recently picked it up again to refresh my memory, and am getting just as much out of it now. It includes all the main tales and just enough detail without being long-winded and confusing. I highly recommend it to readers of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Illustrated Guide to Greek Myths and Legends 31 Oct 2005
By A Customer
Excellent book which I cannot fault for quality and accuracy. I feel some myths could be a little longer but for primary/early secondary children, this is an excellent introduction to Greek myths.

3.0 out of 5 stars Informative and easy for youngsters and adults 2 Feb 2005
This is a nice book for gaining a good basic knowledge of greek mythology, nicely illustrated. Basic explanation of gods and humans in relation to different myths and legends. A bit expensive for such a thin book though

5.0 out of 5 stars Great starter book on Classic Greek Mythology! 23 April 2008
By grr
This illustrated guide to greek myths and legends is a book I grew up with! I was instantly fascinated by the amazing pictures by Rodney Matthews.

It covers all the major stories, and some lesser known ones too! Theres a large glossary at the end with details of 200 gods and characters from the legends. It lists the families, aims, personalities and skills of everyone important. The handy pronunciation guide is great for younger readers too. Theres a good introduction to the geography of greece and its basic history, then its straight in with the creation myths and the world as the greeks saw it. Covers everything from the Trojan War, to wicked women like Medusa, to the Labours of Heracles!

Really, really fantastic! Ideal for any budding classisist! Or anyone just wanting a quick introduction to the subject! Should be taught in schools!!!
