More About the Author

Fiona graduated from Exeter University with a B.Ed. (Hons.), specialising in Psychology and Art and Design. After university she worked as a researcher and writer for a company which published educational material for places where children went on school visits (zoos, museums, stately homes etc). Fiona then taught seven, eight and nine year olds for five years; three years at a state school in Sevenoaks in Kent, and two years at The British School in the Netherlands in The Hague.

Fiona joined Usborne Publishing as an assistant editor in 1989, and over the years has been promoted to editor, senior editor, and then managing editor. In 2003, she became an editorial director at Usborne, largely responsible for writing baby and novelty books, and art and activity titles.

Fiona has written over 100 titles for Usborne Publishing including the phenomenally successful 'That's not my...' touchy-feely series. Other titles include large touchy-feely books on topics ranging from princesses to farms; cloth books with touchy-feely patches and flaps; a wide range of step-by-step art and activity books, including 'How to knit'; music books with CDs for babies and toddlers; 'Dolly Dressing' sticker books; Hide-and-Seek lift-the-flap books; bath books; cookery books and snap cards!

She also edits books written by her team of in-house writer/editors, which include step-by-step activity books and a series of young non-fiction, aimed at beginner readers.

Format: Paperback
Absolutely loved by my 9 month old. contains a story about a rabbit family going on holiday. All pages are cloth filled with foam so great for chewing on. Also contains flaps to lift and different materials in the pictures to make it even more fun. He spends ages just turning the pages and gibbering to himself. Very happy with this particular purchase.
Only disappointment was that it does not have a loop to attach it to the pushchair or anything.

My son absolutely adored this. There is tons of detail on every page, maybe even too much for small babies although it's fine if the parent helps them to explore. My son played with it for ages and it was great to take out on trips because it could hold his attention far longer than other books in waiting rooms etc. Only piece of advice is never, ever put this is the washing machine. Cloth books are prone to getting dirty and we've washed quite a few of ours without a problem but when we did this one all of the activity parts got completely wrecked and never really worked again - so stick to a wipe with a cloth.

Bought when my son was a couple of months old. At 11 months he is still not very interested in it. Each page has a lot of detail on it. A simpler cloth book would be better for younger babies e.g. Frog

Bought this for my first son and he loved it. This is one of the very few cloth books with a story as opposed to just pictures with labels.
My son loved feeling the different textures in the book.
Lots of detail on most pages made it all the more interesting and as the baby grows they can look closely and 'discover' the details.
