Anouk is a very popular female artist in her native country of Holland. Listening to this album it is easy to see why!
The first song I heard from this album was 'Michel', a beautiful song reflecting on a first relationship. There are so many good songs on this album it is hard to chose a favourite. It would be fairer to say that however you are feeling there are songs on here that would suit your mood. Despite the contrasting moods this album evokes it plays well as a whole too. When I first bought this album it didn't leave my cd player for months. Now, a few years later, it is still one of the cds I listen to the most.
'R U kiddin' me' is a great song! Addictive, catchy and sure to have you jumping around your living room!
To sum up - this is a varied album and you will not tire of it quickly. There is appeal in its diversity as well as in the attraction of individual songs.
Anyone interested in Dutch music will be interested to know that the song 'Urban solitude' features Dinand Woesthoff (the much loved singer from the group 'Kane'). Despite being a huge 'Kane' fan, this is not my favourite song on the album. Perhaps this is surprising as Kane is a great artist too. However, other tracks on this album do more justice to Anouks' own talent.
If you haven't heard it, your missing out.
