If you like weird American language then you may well be entertained by this. But be warned; lots of the phrases will be unfamiliar to people in the UK and might raise a puzzled eyebrow instead of a chuckle.

The 'Urban Dictionary' calendar is not a glossy, photo calendar. It's a black and white page-a-day tear-off calendars, which gives 365 different slogans, sayings or mottos (as well as the usual stuff like the date). They are not diaries, so no scope for writing your own notes and not really useful for planning. Instead they're designed to give you a chuckle or to get you thinking at breakfast time... And I often enjoy sending particularly appropriate pages to my friends, when today's saying was obviously written for them!
Some of the daily phrases are really funny, and comment perfectly on current social behaviour. 'Social notworking' is one of my faves - the action of browing around on FB or whatever, while pretending to do work!
I'd say that roughly half of the phrases or words on this calendar hit the spot - which means that half of them either fail to translate particularly well into English-English, or just feel like they've been made up by someone trying to come up with 365 new phrases. And quite a few are sexually explicit, just in case you were thinking that your tweener relative might like this - expect some language similar to an epiosde of The Wire, not Friends...
Also, bear in mind that the info tends to be quite American, so isn't tailored towards UK holidays, clock changes, etc. Ideal gift for transatlantic types, then!

I'm generally not a fan of calendars. I typically find that having a physical calendar is a waste. I generally find the calendar and reminder feature on my phone is all I need to be organized. However, I purchased this for both myself and my wife primarily for the entertainment value and neither of us were disappointed!

Funny Calendar 28 April 2014

This calendar has a funny word or phrase for every day of the week. I look forward to each morning, when I tear off the previous day, and laugh and the new day's word. This is a great way to break up the office monotony.
