Fancy yourself as a bit of a wheeler dealer? Treat your family to Bargain Hunt: The Game and you'll soon be buying and selling a whole host of items "as cheap as chips!"
Bargain Hunt is based on the immensely popular BBC series of the same name and the object is to make the most money. It sounds simple enough, but the skill of the real bobby dazzler lies in buying the correct items from the antiques fair, then selling them at auction for a profit.
Players each have £500 to spend at the beginning of the game and 225 Antiques cards allow players to each select their three purchases. Next, 39 Auction Event cards, together with the Bargain Hunter's Dice and the Auction Dice, dictate the run of the auction along the usual "going, going, gone" lines. This is when the fun really begins--be prepared to ditch usual family and friend loyalties, as you go all out to get your profits as high as possible and maximise others' losses.
Aimed at people aged 12 and above, the game can be played with 2-6 players or in teams. A lively, fun and competitive game, Bargain Hunt is great for family gatherings and dinner parties. (Fake tan not included.) --Susan Naylor

This is a fun, wheeler dealer game based on the popular TV programme. The aim of the game is to make most (or lose least!) cash by buying items at a sale and then selling them at auction. Though there is skill in the purchase, the auction is pretty much down to luck, with the throw of a dice, but nevertheless it will still pit family members or teams against each other, and will have you screaming with laughter when the family loser is beaten again!! Great fun for a family on a Sunday afternoon (though I think any child under 11 may find it difficult) or for a dinner party. If nothing else, you will be able to find out the value of a few of the things you've got stashed in your attic or garage!

This is a terrific game. The fairly basic premise of the game and easy to follow instructions mean that you'll be up and running in just a few minutes.
Suitable for the whole family, the game involves choosing the best "lots" to buy and take to auction - the outcome of which is controlled by the dice - with the added fun of picking the right time to advance your profits (or scupper the chances of a fellow player) with a special "auction event" card.
The game can keep you entertained for quite a while, and is a great way to fill a quiet evening with the family. My only complaint would be the small quantity of score pads - although this is fairly commonplace with games, and any paper will do the trick really.
All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend the game.

We always look for a good christmas game so we ordered this at the end of October.
I am not a fan of David but I thought the game looked ok so we played.
I have to say it is great fun! the auctions are very tactical but also hilarious as you outbid your gran for a cheap vase that you wouldn't have in your house if it was free.
A great family game but make sure that the kids are at least 10 or they will find it hard to play.
Highly recommended.

I bought this game because I thought it would be fun but I don't remember ever getting roung to playing it - may be when the children who were born since I bought it are older!
