3.0 out of 5 stars WELL WRITTEN, BUT LACKING IN GOOD EXAMPLES OF WORK 27 Jun 2009

It's a good book -- well written -- but it could do with better photographs of work used as visual examples. The choice of showing a student's work is not a good reference for those in the process of learning, when the example shown is sloppy. In fact all of the photographic examples of finished work (except for caning) are not very good; certainly, not the type of work to aspire to. However, it is informative and easy to follow, so a good resource. But anyone who does traditional upholstery well, knows that visual aesthetics and neatness is key to doing good work -- work that will last over time.
