If you have 10 or more people to train, Scott can design and present a custom seminar for your organization.

Although he has taught classes virtually nonstop since 1982, Scott is best known as the author of the longest-running, most popular, and most comprehensive PC hardware book in the world, Upgrading and Repairing PCs, which has become the core of an entire series of books, including Upgrading and Repairing PCs, Upgrading and Repairing Laptops, and Upgrading and Repairing Windows.

Scott’s premiere work, Upgrading and Repairing PCs, has sold well over two million copies, making it by far the most popular and longest-running PC hardware book on the market today. Scott has been featured in Forbes magazine and has written several articles for PC World magazine, Maximum PC magazine, the Scott Mueller Forum, various computer and automotive newsletters, and the Upgrading and Repairing PCs website.

5.0 out of 5 stars Upgrading and Repairing PC's 19th Edition 30 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Upgrading and Repairing PCs (Upgrading & Repairing PC's (W/DVD))

This is an excellent book that covers all aspects of PC History, Upgrading and Repair, I have purchased this book for several years and is invaluable for any person serious about the workings of their computer.

It is a big book and absolutely worth the money, also the included DVD covers many video tutorials

The book also includes a code to access the Scott Mueller forum, worth the price of the book on it's own. Scott personally replies to the posts on that forum providing immediate access to an expert, indeed many of the forum members are Computer people themselves.

The book is fully up to date including information on the latest S1156 processor but also goes back to cover the very first Processors.

You won't be disappointed :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Repeat purchaser of this title ! 28 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Altho' not an 'expert' I have chosen in the past all the components in the early days of double processors, matched RAM etc. etc. for my Lian Li large alu tower(before building it and then installing Windows XP Pro) ably aided and abetted by the contents of certain past editions of Mr. Muellers admirable reference, and find myself consulting it nowadays in order among other things to help determine whereabouts in the evolution of Intels "Nehalem" family of processors I would wish to settle when deciding the purchase of a future Apple Pro. ... Scott has certainly helped at vital times to straighten out my ideas and assisted obtaining the "best bang for my buck/s".

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Masterpiece 23 Nov 2010
By Derek57
Format:Paperback
Once again Scott Mueller has delivered another masterpiece, it is written in 'Geek speak' and also translated into plain English as well for us mortals to understand. Earlier editions had all the PC history at the front so you had to either wade knee-deep in it or ignore it altogether. It seems to me that putting the history of the various components that go in to making up a PC at the start of the relevant chapters makes it much easier to reference the parts you want to.

The DVD content is excellent, probably a bit too basic for the ultra-geeks, but makes sound common sense to the rest of us. If you are serious about pursuing a career in IT or just an enthusiastic 'dabbler' into this subject then this book is required reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't have this edition YET but 12 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
if any of the previous editions are anything to go by then this should be on every computer enthusiast's 'Wish List'. Even the most boring detail comes alive....and if there was ever a question you were afraid to ask...the answer is probably in here somewhere! Recommended....have to check my 'Basket' to see if I have added it yet!
Conrad.
