Review

"Stephanie Laurens' heroines are marvellous tributes to Georgette Heyer." - Cathy Kelly "All I need is her name on the cover to make me pick up the book." - New York Times bestselling author Linda Howard"

Product Description

This book presents all the glitter and passion of Regency times through the lives and romantic escapades of the Lester Family.Having seen his sister Lenore and brother Jack caught in Parsons' mousetrap, albeit willingly, Harry Lester had no intention of following their example. Now the news was out that the Lester family fortunes had been repaired, Harry knew the society matrons would soon be in pursuit, so he promptly left London for Newmarket.Fate, however, proved more far-sighted, having arranged for a distraction in the person of Mrs Lucinda Babbacombe. Lucinda is a beautiful, provocative but unwilling conquest - who to Harry's irritation cannot be ignored.

5.0 out of 5 stars a hidden gem, 10 Mar 2008
By V. LAD "BOOK WORM" (Leicester, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Loved this book & completely took me by surprise as both protagonists held their own to the very end. The unusual twist to the story was centred on how the hero goes about proving to the heroine that he loved her through different words & actions without actually proclaiming his feelings until the end. Of course by then both the reader & she beleive it whole heartedly. There are the outside characters that also build the layers to this wonderful story with a touch of humour, sadness & of course romance. One of SL's best works. Highly recommended.
