I am a long time Foreigner fan who bought this album when it was released. I had no idea that Lou Gramm was not performing the vocals. In my opinion this really is worth listening to. Johnny Edwards vocals are very strong and I believe Mick Jones made a great choice. Sometimes it just doesn't work - here it does. And yes it does sound like a Foreigner album - probably because to me, Mick Jones IS Foreigner. He has proved it by reforming the band again recently, this time with Kelly Hansen on vocals. He is the mastermind of this group and the one who creates such a powerful blend of rock harmonies just as he's done on this album. Why not listen to some of the samples and make your own mind up - you won't be disapointed.

This album is an excellent example of AOR. The lyrics are excellent and sung clearly, and the same can be applied to the instrumentation. I am really please that I have been able to add this album to my collection.

I had this when it first come out. Not sure what happened to it, so decided to give it a go again. Good album. I'm not a massive Foreigner fan, but this is a solid album.

If this wasn't foreigner you'd be happy with this effort. But compared to what came before this is just average in songwriting. The new singer is fine but there wasn't any tracks except the rain song that were outstanding enough to make this a hit cd. And of course it never got a chance. I do think that it's a good average rock cd though and not terrible. It's not as good as 'mr moonlight' is though. The cover didn't help this one either perhaps. Lou Gramm did return from 1994-98 but this one was lost inbetween. At the time I would have been less cheritable to it and dismiss the whole effort. I did see this version of the band live in 1991 and they did a fine job really. The gramm version of the band was great too in 1997 , but this is still worth owning if you are foriegner fan. The songs are decent , not great but good enough for a listen once in a while.

Unusual Heat is by far the worst Foreigner album since their stunning debut in 1977. It's even without foreigner's own frontheadmonster Lou Gramm! Foreigner had completely lost it's magic at this time. A magic you can heavenly feel on the first quartet Foreiger albums. After Agent Provocateur, or even with this album, the way downhil already started.

If You want to listen to Foreigner at his hights? Buy the first four albums. An extra plus is the very nice remastering from Rheino Records. The albums sounds more than good. Yes, I love Foreigner in their first Five years. It was a great band.
