Product Description

Review

A mix of top quality street art photos and acerbic, witty and sometimes downright obtuse commentary all delivered with a unique flair. Events given in depth coverage include the Agents of Change 'Ghost Village' project and the Fame Festival in Grottaglie, Italy. Elsewhere the images and artists chosen mean this book very much charts its own path. Some high profile but ultimately vacuous artworks are ignored to ensure the inclusion of more original and thought provoking work. Think of the editorial policy as operating a kind of BS detector and you'll understand what is and isn't likely to be included. -- Art of the State

Street art is exciting. We know that but we might be so deep in it, that we forget it every once in a while. Untitled III reminds us. It also reminds us that we're far from there yet. Wherever there might be. To take some words from the book: Street art is ill defined, street art is a thin line between good and evil, street art is the occasional stroke of genius --CFYE

Now I'm lucky enough to have part I and II here as well, and I read through both again to find if there is something that sets `This is Street Art' apart from its predecessors, except the obvious of course. I'm happy to inform you that there isn't. They found the perfect formula to document and question what is happening, and to provoke the mind. --Arden de Raaij

Fresh from CarpetBombingCulture is Untitled.III This Is Street Art, a coffee table book of the most extraordinary art. For anyone who thinks street art starts and ends with Banksy, this book will be a revelation. From an interview with Angelo from Studio Cromie which are behind the amazing Fame 2010 (that's the Italian FAME meaning hunger NOT the TV series. D'oh) to Jetsonorama, a 52-year old Black practising GP and street artist from a Navajo reservation in Utah, this book will surprise and expand your mind. The latter is always a good thing, my friend.

If this book doesn't get your creative juices flowing nothing will. --Volt Cafe Magazine

Product Description

UNTITLED has previously claimed that Street Art is the most important art movement of our time. It was a deliberately provocative thing to say and they remain unapologetic for it. But the hotly debated question still remains . . . Is Street Art an extension and evolution of Graffiti or a merely a corruption of Graff's pure rebel yell into an easy to swallow rebel lifestyle?

This is Street Art. Make up your own mind.

I love this book - and I don't think it's in any way just a tribute to Banksy. Loads of other artists, including incredible work from all over the world. The text is great - tongue firmly in cheek, and yet often some disguised pearls of wisdom in there. Works very well against the great illustrations. Found number III in the bookshop at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, but will be buying numbers I and II as well.

I purchased the series Untitled I-III thinking it would be wonderful inspiration and an insight into the world of graphiti art. Sadly, I see this as a tribute to one artist, Banksy. Don't get me wrong, I do admire the man's work but c'mon, there are other graphiti artists out there who in my opion are better than he. Nevertheless, he appears to be getting free promo here by my mentioning his name. Silly me, I should have bought one before buying the others but was wrapped up in the enthusiasm.
