Album Description
Debut album from Alex Cornish, an Edinburgh-based singer-songwriter.
'Until the Traffic Stops' is a masterful collection of songs, enveloped in some inspired guitar playing, string arrangements and orchestration. Alex recorded most of this album, apart from the drums and brass, in his own home studio but you'd never know it. With a lush melancholy sound, at times reminiscent of Scott Matthews or Astral Weeks Van Morrison, the album also has a contemporary sheen that echoes Elbow or Coldplay, with a lyrical content old beyond his years.
Alex has a song over the end credits to a Hollywood film out later this year, "Solstice", directed by Dan Myrick (The Blair Witch Project).
"Sometimes a record arrives in the pile and it just jumps out at you. That is Alex Cornish and it's complete quality" - Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music
