To celebrate the release of the Swedish House Mafia documentary 'Take One' Virgin records present a limited edition deluxe 10" hardback book format with a 40 page history of the Swedish House Mafia. The book also includes the 'Take One' DVD movie, 24 soundtrack compilation 'Until One' mixed by Swedish House Mafia including the hit singles 'Miami 2 Ibiza' and 'One (Your Name)' plus 10" vinyl with instrumental mixes of 'Miami 2 Ibiza' and 'One'. Until One
is a collection of each Mafia member’s solo work to date and takes you on a sonic journey from the early club beginnings through to recent top 10 crossover single ‘One’ and new top 5 single - Tinie Tempah collaboration - ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’. This musical alliance follows Tinie’s memorable performance at the Swedish House Mafia’s infamous Masquerade Motel night at Ibiza’s Pacha.
An all-star celebration of dancefloor excess, highlights from this continuous mix include Axwell’s 2007 smash ‘I Found U’ and brand new solo outing ‘Nothing But Love’. ‘Valodja’ sees Steve Angello teaming up with his younger brother AN21 (Antoine) plus his now legendary remake of Robin S’ ‘Show Me Love’. Other stand out tracks include Sebastian Ingrosso’s classic reworking of MGMT’s ‘Kids’ entitled ‘Kidsos’ and ‘Meich’, a mash up featuring Coldplay’s ‘Clocks’ (personally blessed by Chris Martin). Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’ and The Source featuring Candi Staton ‘You Got The Love’ also get the Swedish treatment. Until One
was released as a standalone compilation on 25th October 2010 and debuted at #2 in the compilation charts selling over 22,000 units week 1.
The album Until One
, soundtracks the eagerly-awaited film documentary Take One
DVD. This, warts and all, intimate account documents the extremes, the excess, the highs and the lows of being on the road making you want to simultaneously laugh, cry and dance – of course. Directed by Christian Larson (whose work with Jonas Åkerlund includes Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Rammstein), this unique film follows Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso over the course of 2 years, 285 gigs and 15 countries. Larson also directed the Swedes’ videos for ‘One’ and current hit ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ (a hedonistic visual journey from Miami to Ibiza, shocking to some but just standard procedure for SHM).
The film takes the viewer on a rollercoaster which goes beyond the music to show what binds together 3 friends, 3 artists, 3 pioneers and 3 individuals in an emotional ride to success as a group. In recent years DJs have been portrayed as the new rock stars and where the 80’s gave birth to acid house, this film illustrates how a whole new generation are again pioneering electronic music to define youth culture for millions.
