Product Description

CD Description

Daniel Ward-Murphy is a London based singer/songwriter of Irish descent who has been steadily building a solid reputation as a live artist while performing songs of the highest calibre. He has developed his unique sound built on a solid foundation of acoustic guitar, cello, violin and drums that is both accessible and the perfect medium for his heartfelt vocals and expressive songwriting, while giving his music a timeless, almost throwback feel. This is Daniel’s debut album and was entirely financed by fans via the SellaBand platform. Together with his excellent supporting musicians and co-vocalist Jennifer Delaney, Daniel performs 11 original songs including many that have become favourites of his live shows, ranging from the energy and spirit of "The Queen Of Something New" and She’s A Knockout" to the poignancy of "The Genius Of Myra" and "Under The Wire". It is a genuine musical rollercoaster that displays the strength, emotion and lyrical sentiment of his songwriting. The album was produced by studio legend Tony Platt (Bob Marley, AC/DC, Abram Wilson) who has kept the sound live and natural, allowing the songs to breathe and the vocal and instrumental performances to shine. The result is an album suitable for fans of everyone from Bob Dylan to Damien Rice, Coldplay to Amy MacDonald and Johnny Cash to James Blunt. UK media campaigns commencing Jan/Feb 2009 (online, press & radio), plus E team active now. Radio key tracks: The Queen Of Something New, She’s A Knockout, My Beautiful Predicament, Flame. Sensational animated video for The Queen Of Something New. Full UK touring schedule currently being finalized for early-mid 2009. Tracks: She's A Knockout / My Beautiful Predicament / I Think I Made You Smile / The Queen Of Something New / The Sun Is In Your Eyes / You Live Up In The Stars / Flame / The Genius Of Myra / In This Fair City / Under The Wire / Act Of Defiance.

Until the Morning Light (Digipak - Limited Edition)
Daniel Ward-Murphy is a fine songwriter who has already built a strong following around London where he regularly performs with his excellent band. This album features the repertoire that he has spent the last couple of years honing and perfecting. It's 'Daniel's Greatest Hits' if you like - every song is there on merit and they are all superb. The production brings the very best out of Daniel and his band, featuring only violin, cello, drums, acoustic guitar and the stunning voice of co-vocalist Jennifer Delaney. The bonus tracks on this limited edition are all excellent live performances, there's even a remix by The Silence and also included is the video of 'Queen Of Something New' as well. One of the most exciting releases this year that will certainly help spread the word about this very talented artist.

I heard some of Daniel's songs a while back, and this debut CD has been worth waiting for. Melodic, powerful songs, sung with real passion. Best part for me is the delicate strings which accompany many of the songs. Now is the time for Daniel Ward-Murphy...

Daniel manages to write such wonderful songs and his band - Milo, Helen, Pravin + the amazing Jen helping out with the singing - absolutely do them justice in the performance.
11 tracks (15 on the Ltd Edition including three from his live Songs From Soho recordings) are actually a small number of songs from his songbook as he is somewhat of a prolific writer, but the album easily stands the test of multiple plays having not left our CD player since it's arrival.
This one won't end up gathering dust in the loft!

Terrific debut!
OK, I have to disclose an interest here, as I am one of nearly 1,000 to have helped finance Daniel's professional debut album, so I am a bit biased. Read more
