Untamed is the fourth book in the House Of Night series, based on the idea of a vampire finishing school. I wasn't a huge fan of the first book, but the second and third were better, but something about this book isn't quite so good. Untamed seesZoey trying to make up for her mistakes in Chosen, trying to win back her friends and boyfriend(s?) as well as attempting to stop the evil, and increasingly crazy,Nefert.

Where friendships are concerned Zoey seems to be growing a lot and the development between her and Aphrodite in particular is good and interesting. This book sees things quieten down slightly where the boys areconcerned, with Erik and Heath both furious and hurt. We're starting to see Nefert's big picture now too, and it's not a pleasant one. Luckily for Zoey, she's got the power to try and stop her. Or at least keep her friends safe until she finds a way to do so.

I like this series, and there is enough of a decent plot for me to keep wanting to read, but the language at times is very child friendly and verging on ridiculous (the word 'bullpoopy' appears several times and each time it's used I want to smack the speaker), yet sex is mentioned much more freely. Untamed has the introduction of several things clearly setting up for the rest of the series. There are a few new characters here, most of them a fairly welcome addition, if a little bit strange (like the nuns for instance. Yes I'm serious). Most of the characters are still a little flat and shallow, but there is just enough for you to care about them. Not my favourite in the series so far, but it has some good moments.

I think my problem is the pace of the series. This book covers just a couple of days and is set exactly after the end of the pervious books.... Read more ›

This just gets better and better...if you are one of those people who, like me, struggled to find a good follow up to stephenie meyers brilliant saga, then this is certainly going to help you break free of twighlight's grip! Obviusly i will not give too much info on the storie itself as i know it would only ruin the whole experience, but i will say this, zoey redbird will find out that, no matter how bad thing's get, they can always get worse...but she will also find she is a lot stronger than she thinks and that true friends will always have her back;)

Don't miss it...because this is only still book four...there's a lot more to come ..!!!

After all of the excitement of the previous 3 books I was a little disappointed with this one, I was just expecting a bit more.

This book picks up right where the last one left off, and it goes straight into the story, which is great, only a little recapping on who the characters are. However this time round there is a lot of explaining to do after the fall out of the previous book, not only why certain characters behaved but also who/what the big evil is that is going to be resurrected. This last part is great as I feel it's a solid foundation to build the story up from.

But to be quite honest I feel let down by this book for a few reasons, and hence the reason it's down to 3 stars:
1 - the big evil was slightly ant-climatic and with a name like Raven Mockers, I couldn't take them seriously, I just imagined birds telling each other jokes.

2 - some of the phrases in this book were a little too immature, for a book that is tackling some more mature issues about love and relationships and quite happily uses swear words to suddenly use the words "bull poopy" was a little off putting. I felt like I was reading a kids book not a young adult book.

3 - the characters of Damien and Jack just seemed far too stereotypical and I would have like to have seen more emotion from these two rather than being the token gay couple. I just didn't feel the love.

Having said that I am hoping the 5th book to come back with a bang and I hope they can defeat the big evil. I'm also looking forward to hearing more from Zoey and Aphrodite as I can see them making a great team, as they are really putting aside their differences and trying to make things right.

This is a book about a 16 year-old girl who lives in a society where vampires and humans live openly together, of course with a lot of prejudice going on. It is a different take on the vampire myth with an easy reading story that manages to hook up both adults and teenagers. Very very good. If you enjoyed the Twilight series, this one is perhaps a little more childish, at least at the beginning, but still very good and you will like it too.

I was excited about this book being released as I've been waiting a while to carry on with the series.
Don't get me wrong i do enjoy the books and how Zoey is progressing in the house of night, but this is the fourth book and she's only been there 2 months?! I just feel like the author is cramming a whole lot into a few days, I would have thought she'd have been there at least 6 months, so in 2 months she has a really close knit of friends (being someone who transferred schools you dont get a close group of friends that fast!) and she's been through how many guys?! i just feel the story would make more sense if it happened over a longer period of time, which is why i give it only 3 stars, hopefully the story will pick up in the next books.
