Product Description

Unsettling horror starring Corri English. Alison Blanchard (English) is a first-year medical student who discovers that death may not be as final as she once believed when the spirit of the cadaver assigned to her in Gross Anatomy class attempts to resolve some unfinished business in the mortal realm. When the sheet is pulled back and Alison's cadaver is revealed, the nervous student suddenly senses a powerful energy and passes out. When she comes to she finds herself in Dr Blackwell's (Derrick O'Connor) office, where she confides that she felt a strange presence in the lab. But Alison finds her strange malaise immediately written off as 'first year jitters'. When her friend is discovered dead in a basement corridor and the rising body count appears to be connected with her investigation into the cadaver's fate, the frightened medical student does her best to put the mystery, and the murderous spirit, to rest.

Unrest has more than its fair share of problems, but I have to admit I did enjoy watching it. I can't give director Jason Todd Ipson too much credit, though, because he wrote as well as directed the project - and this storyline has some gargantuan holes and death-defying jumps of logic interspersed throughout. The inclusion of several really annoying little things (such as the fact that first-year med school students are constantly referred to as Doctors) also take something away from one's enjoyment. Still, I have to admit that there's just something about Unrest that I liked.

First-year med student Alison Blanchard (Britney Spears lookalike Corri English) isn't the first student to ever pass out at her first sight of a dead body, but she may be the first to explain her lunch-tossing reaction as a response to a strong feeling that something isn't esoterically right with her cadaver. She recovers in time to help her lab partners start dissecting the body, but she becomes obsessed with finding out whatever she thinks the exceedingly dead corpse is trying to tell her. So far so good with the creepy atmosphere, which is further heightened by the fact that poor Alison actually has to reside there in a dark wing of the hospital until her financial aid comes through. Her professor and lab mates just think she has typical first-year med school jitters, but it becomes obvious that something far from typical is going on when individuals connected to the body start turning up dead.

The casting in this film is, if nothing else, interesting. I think Corri English does a pretty good job in the starring role, and the fact that she bears such a strong resemblance to Britney Spears makes her even more interesting to watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN EXPECTED 21 Mar 2011
By 747Rick
Sometimes when your expectations of a film aren't too high you discover one that seems to stand out from the bunch and 'Unrest' certainly did it for me.

Whilst not a classic it's head and shoulders above a lot of these types of films. I thought it was filmed well. As I've stated before what you can't see is sometimes more spooky and this film definitely had some moments (mind you I've never been particularly fond of hospitals or unlit corridors)!!

The cast all do reasonably well (especially Corrie English who is a deadringer for Britney Spears), although they are hampered somewhat by a script that has a few plotholes and inconsistancies.

Overall though I was pleasantly entertained.

This film has the most unusual stars-real corpses! That is a first for any film! I am surprised that someone has finally found something to creep us out with. I know that we will all end up that way some day-as corpses, and you can still get shown as a star!!It all goes to prove-you are never too old for stardom!!
I don't know how you do it Amazon-but you always deliver the best! Thank You All.

The front cover made my mind up so I bought this movie for cheap. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Too many plotholes and I didn't feel scared once. Overall, an okay movie that is a one watch.
