4.0 out of 5 stars One long remix you can keep on repeat play 2 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I can leave this CD playing whilst working or relaxing. Refreshing remixes from "Remedy" plus b-sides. There are eleven tracks. 1) Red Alert (Jaxx Radio Mix)..speaks for itself!..the music keeps on playing on and on....... 2) Razocaine. This has a nice "echo" beat with some great reverbs, catchy sound bytes. 3) Miracles Keep On Playin' (Red Alert Mix). The tempo is quicker (slightly). Again some good "break beats"...on and on.. 4) All U Crazies. (By now you are one of them!) A little repetative, though it doesn't stop you listening, in fact it keeps you going..on and on...(This is night music to drive to).... 5) Jump 'N' Shout Featuring Slarta John (Radio Edit). This one breaks up the CD, makes you want to get up, maybe jump, maybe shout, but it's cool! and no...oops, that one has changed things coz number 6) La Photo, gives a snapshot of something different, bit of a romantic meeting here, a love song with drum 'n' bass 'n' sweet little giggles!... I Beg U 7) I Beg U (bring back the "on and on".. on and on...(well nearly!). This one is for after the drive! Could have been a second half of Red Alert... 8) U Can't Stop Me (Stephen Emanuel Mix)....By now we know we can't stop U. This one is a real "song", still with the Jaxx beats though... 9) Red Alert (Jaxx Nite Dub)... No not sleeping tonite! "on and on" she screams, jumps, shouts until it levels to a dream.... 10) Jump N' Shout (Boo Slinga Dub)...WAKE UP (boo) CALL! We're back to jumping n' shouting (more up tempo)... 11) Rendez-Vu (Radio Edit). By far my favourite. From the opening deep guitar 'n' voice to the "robotic" chorus of "I got you in my heart, I got you in my head", this is Jaxx at their best. Chunky beats, catchy tunes, ready for repeats!...on and on..on and on... This is worth four stars, plus at this price, well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars More House Remedies 24 Dec 2000
By "tristanfrank" - Published on
Format:Audio CD
This import cd is those who enjoyed the debut album by the Basement Jaxx, "Remedy". This disc seems to have commpiled the best non-album tracks that appeared on the "Red Alert", "Rendez-Vu" and "Bingo-Bango" singles. Most of the tracks here are either alternate versions, edits, or remixes of material which appeared on "Remedy". Three of the eleven tracks are radio edits, which means they are a minute or two shorter than their original versions. The remixes and alternate versions prove to be interesting. "Miracles Keep On Playin (Red Alert Mix)" is basically just a cut-up acappella of "Red Alert" put on top of the beat of some old disco song, with surprisingly good results. The other remixes are good too, as they make the songs sound new and fresh once again. The new material here seems to be music that did not make it onto the Basement Jaxx album for some reason. Each of these tracks could have fit right into "Remedy", but none would have stuck out, except for "La Photo" which has some really catchy melodies and hooks. "La Photo" seems to be a collaboration with Dimitri from Paris. It has ambient french noises and is a good track in all. I would recommend this import for those who wanted more from the Basement Jaxx after listening to "Remedy". That album was the best dance album in 1999. This isn't quite as good as "Remedy", but will wet apetites as fans await more new material from these guys.
5.0 out of 5 stars Basement Jaxx Delivers! 14 July 2010

First of all , I love Basement Jaxx! This particular CD is a compilation of unreleased tunes. So, some are old tunes that you may have heard before but mixed differently.
For a fan, it's a great addition to your collection. For someone who wants to hear the good Basement Jaxx songs/tunes get the regular CDs.
