Biography

Put on the spot on a TV show and asked the title of his next album, Boy George blurted out This Is What I Do. It wasn't as random as this story suggests, the title was one of a few being mulled over, but the decision was instant and it has stuck.

The simple statement of fact - This Is What I Do - is telling and significant because so much has gone on over the years to actually ... Read more in Amazon's Boy George Store

After the amazing Cheapness and Beauty, how could he improve. By releasing this, that's how! Every song showcases his voice beautifully, from the rock of Suffragette City, to the bitter truth of She was never he, through the sheer pop extravaganza of Number One. Even though many of the tracks are un-mixed or demo versions one thing shines through -SHEER TALENT.

This album came out just before Culture Club returned with the sparkling "I Just Wanna be Loved" comeback single.
Many of these songs could have been brilliant Culture Club songs and I am still puzzled why he released the album when he needed more good songs on the "Don't Mind If I Do"-album. "Number one" could have been the perfect followup single to "Wanna Be Loved".
The songs are a bit unfinished but they are good and you can really hear that George is enjoying himself in the studio.

_ The Unrecoupable One Man Bandit _ comes in the form of a notebook, a logbook, a book of life. It brings us anger and laughter, sharing with us the small daily frustrations, as well as life's deeper tragedies. By exploring the singular while remaining committed to raising consciousness and defending a responsible, humanistic type of freedom, it meets everybody's experience. This is spooky truth.
