Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Unreal II is an intense gaming experience that immerses players in an epic story-driven adventure featuring superb graphics. As a Terran Colonial Authority Marshall, you're patrolling a sector of the frontier with three crew members when an interstellar war erupts. Rumours of powerful and ancient alien artefacts have driven rival factions to war in an attempt to find and control the objects. You must locate these artefacts, determine their purpose and restore order to the sector before it's too late.

I was shocked at the other review for this product, as a 1 star rating does not do this game justice.

For the record, there is the Unreal TOURNAMENT series, which is focused on fast-paced action and explosive special effects. Then there is the UNREAL series, which requires thought as opposed to reflexes. This does not, as the other reviewer suggests, make it a bad game.

This is a competent port of what was a good-looking game on PC, with added mulitplayer via Xbox Live (a feature not present on the PC game).

This is not the best FPS on the Xbox by a long shot. However, if you are a fan of the genre, it is well worth a look in.

Good Game 16 April 2007
Fun:
I have played most FPS games, Quake 4, Doom 3, Halo and the best game I ever played with respect to Duke Nukem, was Unreal (the original) Unreal 2 didnt disappoint me. The levels are well constucted and baeutiful. The weapon arnt bad but could have done with better sound effects. The enemies again were ok although the cut scenes did get a bit of a pain by the end. Never the less its a very enjoyable game... infact I thought Halo was very similiar (but very, very boring game play). Its not bottom clenching game play, but I have enjoyed playing this very much. I love to go into lots of varying themed levels id, desert, ice, swamp ect this is where Quake and Doom fail, badley. It all depends what your looking for, but dont dissmiss it because of a few bad reports... go forth and enjoy.

Unreal 2: The Boring 11 May 2004
I havnt given this game a terrible score, because generally its not a bad game, however. At parts it is boring, shooting the same old aliens and soldiers can get a bit repetative and tiring. You have a fairly good selection of weapons at your disposal, the Grenade Launcher, Assault Gun, Flamethrower etc etc.... The cutscences are good, bit too monotone here and there, but still good to watch. You have bosses at the end of a level, bit like Half-Life. It tries to copy the same original features that popular fps's have, like Half-Life, RtoCW and Quake which i think might be its downfall. I mean, overall you have the ingrediants for a fine game, and i think if the creators made a bit more of "spice" in the game it could of ended up as a top seller, but i think it was all build up and no power which is why it hasnt hit people's homes as quick as it was expected to. Still a good game to own if you want a bit of trigger time and un-earthly goings on.
