The acoustics and piano sound really good and these add emotion to the songs in my opinion. The songs themselves are melodic complimented by alanis' unique writing and singing talents. To my surprise and pleasure i recognised a couple of the songs as ones i had always liked but never realised that they were on the album as i didn't know the titles of these tracks nor remembered the artist that sung them.
I don't know about anybody else but i was really chuffed when i realised that i liked every single track on an album that previous to me buying it i only knew one of them. This album is now at the top of my pile meaning that the track 'you learn' will be waking me up every weekday. As i said it is a breath of fresh air, the first album to bring tears to my eyes.
Let's get one thing straight first - Alanis sounds fantastic live, and even though there's only three new songs, the live versions on this CD are so different you really are getting a brand new album.
