This book is full of helpful advice and tips and definitely worth a read, however I felt sometimes this book was quite negative and made me feel stressed out about my trip to Disney, I think you should take what you want from the book but don't take to serious, aimed at American readers going to try brits guide guide next

4.0 out of 5 starsMust-have for Disney trip planning22 Sep 2012

This guide is my favorite of all the books we bought for our previous Disney trips. It is so thorough and honest. I felt that most of the opinions and reviews were in line with our own based on our experiences at Disney. The info on dining is so helpful. We had the 2011 version and hoped for new reader comments in the 2012 edition but most of them are repeats. This one does have updated information on newly renovated rooms and rides. A must-have if you want to save time, money, and sanity on your Disney vacation.

5.0 out of 5 starsLove the daily park guides10 Dec 2012

We bought this in tandem with the much larger Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (sans the kids). This book contains many helpful recommendations on rides, attractions, and restaurants that are best to do with the little ones. As I am someone who likes to over-plan, my favorite part is the daily trip guides which easily lay out steps to see entire parks in one or two days (multiple guides are given based on the age of the child, too!).

3.0 out of 5 starsSeemed Like Filler and I Don't Need Parenting Advice Thankyouverymuch.11 May 2013

So, I read this about a month before we left for Disney World with THREE children -a 1 year old, a 3 year old, and a 4 year old. Some of the advice is incredibly helpful-the fastpass info, general ideas as to the layout of the park. They warn you to get reservations at the character restaurants early-so true. They continually recommend their plans-but they weren't so helpful. It just seemed like the entire book could could be condensed into the regular book. The author's advice to get up early to get to the park early to start the touring plans so that you can see the most of the park-would probably be good for most people-not for us! We went later-as in 11:00 a.m. stayed enough to ride a few rides-maybe 4 hours? That worked for us. I hate rushing around like its the Amazing Race or the like.
What annoyed me the most-was the "how to raise your child" advice throughout the book. I get "make sure your kids get a nap"-very helpful and true. But the "don't yell at your children" etc, etc-is condescending. Seriously, if you have to read a tour book to learn how to raise your children-the gig is up. Odd to me, at least.
If I could do it again-I would still buy it-because I don't have a ton of time to do online research. However, all the information in the book is available on the web (except how the author thinks you should raise your children of course. HaHa)
