About the Author

JAMES PATTERSON is one of the best-known and biggest-selling writers of all time. He lives in Florida with his wife and son.

James is passionate about encouraging children to read. Inspired by his own son who was a reluctant reader, he also writes a range of books specifically for young readers. James Patterson continues to get worse with each novel he writes in this particular series. The Unlucky 13th joins then list. I found the novel so disjointed, confused and rushed. It seems though the author running out of steam to maintain interest levels. There are too many plots. It constantly shift from one plot to another. I could not really get it. It is really off putting. One plot would have been ideal, as it would be easier to follow and storyline would have developed. There is no depth in the storylines at all. It is all too cat and mouse. I found the characters so dull and out of a cardboard. The writing is so tedious and lazy. It failed to wow me at all. I am not sure which direction the 14th edition would head.I would scrap the idea. I did not particularly enjoy the novel. Patterson needs to focus on quality. He is so eager to publish a novel too soon. This is a cash cow opportunity. I think he would be better focus on Cross and Benett character rather than Women murder club and Nypd series as it is by far weakest inventions. This is my personal view. 2 stars is a fair reflection. If you are looking for quality crime fiction, I would look elsewhere. Michael Connelly, Harlen Coben and Camille Lackberg are the best in the field and aim for quality than quantity. I wish Patterson focus on fewer characters and less novels.

Not the best Womans Murder Club book (but the last one annoyed me even worse when Boxer went back to work when her baby was only 2 weeks old. Then the baby had a cancer scare and Boxer was nipping out to visit crime scenes in between hospital visits - seriously, come on!!) Also felt like the main story didn't quite wrap up at the end of the book.

An innocent looking traffic accident in peak hour San Francisco hides a terrifying and shocking secret. Two young Americans are found - quite literally - in pieces on the front seat of an all but destroyed car in the middle of multi-lane chaos stretching the full length of the world's most famous bridge.

An initial investigation by authorities leads them to conclude that both victims had powerful bombs - horrifically, and impossibly - explode from within their abdomens. In one of the most compellingly written James Patterson books released for years, the reader will find themselves glued to their kindle screens to find out what happens next. And this is barely halfway through the prologue!

The writing in this extraordinary novel is highly entertaining, perfectly plotted and very descriptive. The locations are vividly drawn in the reader's mind and absorbing this wonderful novel is a breeze (despite the subject matter) as a result. The characters are wonderfully created and represented and each one has their obvious strengths, weaknesses and demonstrations of what it means to be human. I know that sounds obvious but when reading a book of this nature, it is good to be reminded about the things that really matter in life. I am super keen to discover what kind of a person would do this. And to what end.

This is one of the best James Patterson novels I have come across in ages. I regret not reading any of the previous books in this series, but at least I have a lot of great books to catch up on. Thank you, Mr Patterson, for giving us one of the surprise reads of the year.

I hereby award this great book four stars.

BFN Greggorio!

This one didn't need so many different stories in it..... Should have picked 2 maybe and ran with them....
Didn't hold my attention ..... Every now and then you get a sense that a book is rushed out.....this is one of them!
