Book Description

6 April 1998 0684845776 978-0684845777 New edition
How has Anthony Robbins, convinced tens of thousands of individuals to kick off their shoes and walk slowly---even cheerfully---across ten feet of burning coals?
Robbins, who calls his firewalk "an experience in personal power and responsibilities, " is one of the foremost experts in Neuro Linguistic Programming---a system Science Digest says is "the most powerful vehicle for change in existence." Plug into "Unlimited Power" and you'll agree. Based on the simple fact that success---in any venture---stems from specific patterns of behavior which can be studied, then imitated, NLP and Unlimited Power explains how you can meet the four criteria for achievement:
Defining Your Goal
Taking Focused Action
Gauging Your Results As You Go
Adjusting Your Behavior Until The Goal Is Achieved
So kick off your shoes...then put your feet up and learn what the firewalkers have discovered: that success is habit-forming and the habit of success, once learned, is nearly impossible to forget.

This book can increase your wealth 10 fold, increase your happiness to levels continually to a level that you thought you only had once a year when your football team won the league, make relationships a pleasure and not a burden.

This book was read and APPLIED by myself and all the above are now true for my life.

Drop me a mail if you want more info about this guide to life, also try How to win friends and influence people, Think and grow rich by N Hill. These books are the text books they should have supplied at school and not the rubbish that you cannot apply in real life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book -- gives real results. 6 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I'm now reading this book for the third time, it's that good. I want to give you three concrete examples of how this book has helped me. After I first read this book, I wrote down that I wanted to lose weight. Within 7 months of doing so I had lost nearly 11 Kg. Today I weigh 73 Kg, which is a good weight for my age, height and sex.

I then wrote down "Speaking a foreign language fluently" as a goal. Within seven months my ability in that language was good enough to cope with job interviews, and I got the first job abroad I was interviewed for.

My third example: when I read the book I was living in a tiny one-room flat, with a bathroom and kitchen too small to turn around in. I was sleeping on an old futon base on the floor. The flat was inundated with ever-multiplying dust, partly from the polluted road outside. Within 6 months of reading the book I had a larger, dust-free flat with two rooms, a bed, and a larger bathroom and kitchen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pay more attention! 14 Feb 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Anthony Robbins has total self-belief. He is proud of where he has got to and of his achievements, but the reader hears just a little too much about these. He went from being an unhappy overweight underachiever to having a large company, a good relationship and all the success he could handle by transforming his life himself. Unlimited Power describes the process he designed to get himself where he is today, and shows the reader how to do the same. It is full of interesting ideas, with some exercises for the reader to try out. Does it work? I have no idea, but Mr Robbins would like you to try.

Anthony Robbins is American through and through, and so is this book. There's nothing wrong with that, but most of the people he mentions are American millionaires or politicians and I'm not sure how many people outside the US will have hard of them or know what they have achieved. Norman Cousins? Lee Iacocca? Who are these people?

The book’s poor production values constantly get in the way of the message. Spelling mistakes abound. These are sometimes entertaining, such as when someone is so angry he flies into a range, but are usually just annoying. If Anthony Robbins is so attached to his book and so passionate about it, why didn’t he get it proofread? My copy is printed on quite coarse, yellowish paper, so the pages just don’t look inspiring. There is also no index, which might have been useful.

An interesting read, but maybe one to get out of your local library before you actually buy it.
