Glaring errors in the story. I come from Bath, a Georgian City in England where the gentry spent their summers as it was too uncomfortable in London, so the season would have been spent in Bath.
We have roads, avenues, crescents but absolutely NOWHERE would you find a block. This is a modern day US invention.
Likewise, the word 'snuck' didn't exist and it is beyond belief that a young girl would be able to climb trees in the voluminous clothing of the day.
As regards a young lady's COMING out - please note , it is not 'COME OUT', it is the first time girls are allowed to attend grown up events. They would almost without exception be virgins and the most important part of the occasion would be when they would be presented to the reigning monarch - in this case, Queen Victoria. It was compulsory for them to wear virginal white.
This ceremony has been going on for hundreds of years, well into the 20th century so would have been very easy to research.
Apart from that, not a bad read.

A few too many evil gossips spreading lies, and too many tempers lost, too many furious running away scenes, too many misunderstandings...but fairly attractive characters, and decent plot, what there was of it...the entire ton seems to be made up of hypocrites and deceivers...but finally the HEA is reached!

Lucy and Henry were a delight to read about. I have only recently got into period writers and the age it is so different from the modern times its astonishing they managed to do anything. I thought that Henry was unnecessarily cruel to Lucy just to further his ambitions and as such he would have crushed a radical and free thinking Lucy to fit the mould he had in his mind for her. It was so appropriate that she should be the one to upend his life a a cause him to fall in love with her. Lovely read.
