Wonderful story.
Jared is a strong self made man and is miffed when he has to go to England but does all the same.
Red his cousin is a cool character and perhaps Anne Herries will do his story too.
They both create a joke that sort of back fires a little but is fun in the making.
The plot keeps you on your toes for several aspects of the story.
Hester our lady of the story has hidden depths which come out well during the story.
All in all a cracking read.

Horrible book

Started out not bad, but got worse and worse. The plot was so thin and the who done it flat because frankly you knew who done through the whole book and for a very flimsy reason. I couldn't stand the heroine, she was very shallow and colorless and she lived in a self centered bubble with her grandest love... the house, no love story unless you count the house. Through the whole book, she never really cared about the suffering of her people, only renovating that house. This book went into the permanently delete file.

i don`t like writing negative reviews but this was pretty awful. The book started off alright but then started to read like a first draft. While I enjoy them, I don't expect most regency romance to be masterpieces but I couldn't even bear to read the last chapter which by the way re-explain aspects of the plot already revealed. The mystery plot was completely predictable - very clunky
