Book Description

When everything has been taken from you . . .

There's nothing left to lose.

Martin Harris has been in a coma for three days.

When he wakes up, otherwise unharmed, he is shocked to discover that no one knows who he is - he no longer exists.

Worse still, another man is living Martin's life. His identity, his home, even his wife have been stolen. He has lost everything.

Except his memory . . .

Will anyone believe that he is the real Martin Harris?

If not, is he mad?

Or is there a far darker explanation?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great short story! but was expensive 26 July 2011

This short story is much much much better than the film!! Its done in first person and there are lots of twists to keep your brain going. Its only a shame that the book is so short :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read 26 Sep 2011

Really intelligently written story, which made me laugh out loud several time. The dialogue between the characters is witty and sharp. Would have liked more build up in terms of the relationship from the congresswoman to understand the depth of feeling required to ignore the integrity of an involvement with an opposition staffer. Overall a really good read and one that I've recommended to friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short story 28 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is more a short story than a full blown novel. Having seen the film, it's one of those rare occurrences where the film fills out the story from the book, as the book has a bare bones story.

I loved the opening scene on the first page, such a great way to open the book, as a man having come round from a coma goes seeking his life. Whilst he has a clear recollection of people and places, they don't seem to recognise him. What's going on?

There's a lot about him being a botanist and the life of plants (a strange addition for a thriller!) but in many ways that helps to add to the confusion of the characters.

Intriguing idea. Short story. Not as detailed as the film!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry I thought this book was awful! 28 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found myself totally bored reading this book and had to flick through many pages without reading them. Too in-depth on the politics side of things, not enough of the romance. Unrealistic +++. Boring! A definite, not recommended from me.
