4.0 out of 5 stars Review of the Pro tarot 22 Jan 2010

Bought this deck and it arrived in good shape. It has a box similar to the quantum tarot in that the box top slides off. So it will keep the cards in good condition.
The cards are Giant size like the Giant rider waite deck.

Comes with a booklet with standard meanings.

Cards are black edged and I found the white edging on the cards right out of the box. The images are pretty much Rider waite.. But the colors are muted and not nearly as strong as the bright colors of the rider waite.

If you like muted colors you may like this deck.
The card stock is thin for this size card. And it is not laminated like the giant rider waite.

The deck is Not slippery like the laminated or Plastic coated cards. So it may be easier to control and shuffle.

I will have to get back to you concerning the lifespan with constant use.

Update 01-24-10

I have been using and reading this deck for a few days now and find that the flexability of the cards allows them to be shuffeled easier even though they are the large cards.
With some cards that have black boarders after being shuffeled hundreds of times the finish seems to get frosty in the black areas especially. Whatever they finished these cards with I am happy to say thet after being shuffeled four to five hundred times they still have the same finish as when new. In my first statement on 01-22 I complained that the colors were muted. Well they are but I am getting use to them and kind of like it now. Funny how things can grow on you.
I am raising my review to 4 stars for now on these.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations, giant cards 9 Jan 2013

I had a bit of difficulty getting used to the large card size. The card stock doesn't seem to have increased in scale with the cards, so it feels a bit flimsy at first, but I believe it makes shuffling easier.

I am a big fan of the illustrations. I have an original Rider-Waite deck and prefer these illustrations in a side by side comparison. The fact that the cards are so large makes everything more visible, and during readings this can bring attention to minute details that you might otherwise have missed on smaller cards.

The backs look great and are reversible which is something I always look for in a deck. I like the surprise of not knowing whether a card will be right side up or upside down, considering how much this can change a reading. I've uploaded a few pictures to show the relative card size and to give an example of how the backs of the cards look. If you have any use for larger cards I highly recommend this deck.

2.0 out of 5 stars A strange interpretation 31 Mar 2011

The back on these cards is lovely. The "working" side, not so much. Several images are significantly different that a standard universal deck. I don't understand this artist's fascination with bare feet. Strange. Costumes are also all over as far as time period - Roman, Medieval, Elizabethan. Distracting. While large they lack detail. The colors are dull. They are good for demos or lectures, but I wouldn't use it for reading.
