The above battery charger is a must for those people who cannot charge their phone in the normal way,it is better still to have one battery on charge whilst using the other and swop when required, this is a replacement for those expensive phones that cannot have their charging ports repaired ,blackberry are prone to this, BEWARE!

**WARNING** This item does NOT appear to have a long life span, purchased on June 28th 2012 by July 20th 2012 has ceased to function/working. Conclusion: cheaply made and very poor quality, according to my personal view/experience and others on here (at Amazon). A better quality product need to be available soon for the same price. Thank you.

I bought two of these so got the opportunity to review the item twice which explains why there are two identical reviews from me.

This little device is so useful and versatile - I bought two and have been so very pleased with them both.
I hope this info helps those who are thinking of purchasing as I noted some poor reviews which I believe are simply due to people not being able to understand how to use the device properly.

1. The cradle can be rotated so to accommodate large or smaller batteries.

2. I can confirm these units WILL accept the large battery that powers the Chinese S3 clone phone of a Samsungn - being the Hai Pai i9377

3. Make sure you slide the battery up and into contact with the pins which otherwise could easily be damaged then pull the ledge downwards against the spring pressure to load and secure the battery.

4. The unit will not work if you insert the battery the wrong way round i.e. reversed polarity but it does have a clever little warning built in. If you insert the battery reversed polarity the led indicator instantly glows red telling you to turn the battery over when the led will then turn blue.

5. When correctly loaded, when you plug the charger in the mains the led will turn red indicating it is charging your battery. When the battery is fully charged the led turns blue again.

Interesting observation, when I charged my Hai Pai i9377 phone battery in the phone until the phone tells me the charging is complete, and then place the apparently fully charged battery in the Tanco charger, I can continue to charge it further - and since charging this way, my mobile phone has been usable for much longer periods than when I charge in phone.

An excellent and very useful tool to have and I recommend them unequivocally 6 Stars.

My Blackberry charging port is unrepairable so thought this product (together with a spare battery) would be an ideal option to keeping my phone charged. Product arrived promptly, however, its quite fiddly to use. The charging contacts are 2 thin almost needlelike prongs, one of which kept flipping back into the unit and had to be prised out very carefully for risk of snapping off. Once done, the battery has to be held in place with a fierce spring that's quite hard to manipulate and it took several attempts to ensure that after my battery was held in its correct position on the charger, that the charger prongs were connecting in the right place on my battery.

Now the item has completely stopped working (after about 1 mth) and I'm looking for a replacement....

Had to buy this as charger port on phone unrepairable. Great idea as can charge my spare battery ready to swap over when original runs down which is on a daily basis with my phone. Would recommend to everyone

The device isn't as presented on the photo: When placed in, the battery exceeds the device. Nevertheless, It's got an LCD screen really convenient to see the charging, so I guess I'm better off with this one. And it's got an American plug hidden under the British one, which may be useful. I had to put one star off, though, for this little lack of precision.
Considering the reception. I had to wait 8 days more than told, but the Royal Mail is probably responsible for that. Once contacted to resolve the matter, the sender (Gadgets Online) has been quite reactive.
