5.0 out of 5 stars Mandatory for A.T. trainees. 19 Oct 2011

But probably not of huge interest to others... there are vastly more approachable introductions out there.

Mouritz who handle the thing really need to wake up and realise that digitising this work and making it available online is the way it's going to go, and that they might as well do it themselves. 35? That's pretty seriously off putting, and does nothing to promote the technique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back in print, August 2000 18 Aug 2000
By John Coffin - Published on
Mouritz,London, has brought out a new edition of the Universal Constant in Living, F.M. Alexander's last book.
Edited and annotated by Jean Fischer, whose editions of 'Man's Supreme Inheritance' and the 'Articles and Lectures' collection have raised the standard for the serious study of Alexander, this promises to be a MUST for teachers and students of the Alexander Technique.
The book is a sort of footnote to the earlier books, there is some problem with sprawl. But Alexander never wrote more clearly and succinctly.

5.0 out of 5 stars F. M. Alexander's great work 9 Aug 2012
By A Magyar - Published on
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
For those familiar with or having interest in the work of F. M. Alexander, possibly one of the more important and insufficiently recognized thinkers of the 20th century, this book is essential reading. In it he elaborates in greater depth, and I think after the perspective of further years of experience, upon his ideas about how the human race can be helped by the use of conscious work to eliminate harmful habits and reactions. It takes some effort to stay with his train of thought, (his language and writing structure, with some very long, elaborate sentences is not always easy going) but it is well worth the effort.
