5.0 out of 5 stars tara: informative about DID 4 Oct 2010
By carol
Format:DVD
The united states of Tara, is both funny and yet informative about the impact of DID, dissociative identity disorder. The pilots a bit over the top, but the following episodes all have a serious point to make regards the impact of living with DID. Have found it a useful tool to expalin to others what its like having DID.
Would highly recommend to anyone interested in DID, or who is living with or knows someone with DID. Toni Collette is simply brilliant and plays the role of Tara so well, its a good watch for anyone.

I was really fortunate to get the first series cheaply as it shipped without original packaging.
I was curious to figure out how this soap about a woman with multple personalities would work..
COMPULSIVE VEIWING!
I cant wait for the series to be aired on UK terrestial tv.
US series are fast becoming state of the art commentary about so much of modern life.
I highly recommend this and look forward to more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Never fails to entertain 25 Jan 2010
Format:DVD
This quickly became my new weekly addiction when it aired in New Zealand. Always had interesting storylines and such a wide range of characters with different issues and quirks. Very funny and light-hearted. Times where you are on the edge of your seat, near tears, laughing, shocked, and more. Can't stress enough how well Toni Collette [main character] plays all the "alters!" Highly recommend to all who love shows like Nip/Tuck, Grey's Anatomy etc.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a pity about the storyline 4 Jan 2011

With all respect to Toni Collette, I will keep this review brief.

Having admired her since 'Muriel's Wedding' I assumed her presence in this seres was an indication of quality. However, both the story, and how it is told, are both so irritating that I am forced to give it just 2 stars.

It's a clever title and idea, but, the rest of the cast are lack-lustre, and to me you have to LIKE at least one character in a series to enjoy it.

This left me COLD.
