The best book I have ever seen about US customs and traditions particulary from business point of view.

I bought a book from the same series before going to Cambodia and quite enjoyed it, but was less impressed with the one on the U.S. I think the author has tried too hard to cover and categorize everything, making it full of quite obvious facts and describing them too much in detail. I quite enjoyed reading about the origins of the Thanksgiving. I wish there were more "catchy" facts like that. Overall, I learned very little from this book and was inspired even less. But I guess there are not so many other books, which focus on the cultural/lifestyle aspects of the U.S., and many readers would probably find this book quite useful.

This book comes from a useful series and itself is useful. It should appeal to those few in Britain who have some realisation that most of their countrymen are slobs at home and abroad. They usually are not able to speak English as well as the natives of the countries they visit, are usually less well educated and have a dire ignorance that others have traditions, customs and manners far more advanced than those in Britain. Some elements of this book (as with others in the series) can be amusing but it is strongly recommended that parents and employers think about providing this for those about to go abroad on holiday even let alone for more purposeful reasons.
