5.0 out of 5 stars Best Dance Music Ever........., 8 Mar 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: United Dance Anthems Vol.2 1988-1992: Mixed By Slipmatt (Audio CD)
This is one of the best CD's ever, this is pure class, modern dance is a complete joke compared to these tracks, I made it to Raindance those 'Dennis The Menace' were something else, talk about rush!
A lot of the greats are on these two CD's,
If this is your era you've got to buy this,
Even if it's not............. you'll still LOVE IT.

A MUST HAVE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Total Value for money, all thats missing are some doves, 4 Oct 2001

This review is from: United Dance Anthems Vol.2 1988-1992: Mixed By Slipmatt (Audio CD)
Well, what can I say! This is a truly top collection of tunes. Slipmatt does some top mixing and fat chobbing of the crossfader. Well you can only do it with the old tunes and still make it sound good. I never made it to Raindance but still remember those stupid t-shirts that change colour with the heat(why?), vics and bottles of water. CD1 starts with an absolute classic tune "You got the Love" followed by one of my favourite tunes of all time (cant top "Hardcore uproar" by Together) "Baby let me love you tonight". Then what a tune, "Break 4 love", made for lovin' speak of which got to mention "Come get my love" - Total Class. Slipmatt has chosen well. Other highlights on CD1 that takes me back are "I can dance" by fast eddy, what a piano riff. What bass on "Humanoid". Looks like the old classic "Papua New Guinea" was just stuck on the end. But not complaints. If you thi0nk all that sounded good, then wait till you hear CD2, got to be honest, I don't know the first couple of tracks, must be some soft southern st*ff going on! But it gets a move on after that. One point though, why does everyone put Moby "Go" on all the old completions. It wasn't played that much in clubs, and its not exactly his best tune is it!?! Anyhow, "Cubes" is totally top, and even if you've not heard it before, I challenge you to sit still! "Just let go" is a typical hardcore tune of its time, big breaks , samples and hard bass. For those who went the Quad, "Quadrophonia", the first time I've been able to get it on CD, I can give some of my old tapes a break now! From now on all the tunes one after the other keep on comin'. With my favourite being "DJ Unit", "Compounded", "Hurt you so", "Hypnosis" I cant decide which. Shouldn't have included "Panic" at the end though. Not up to standard, but reminds me of some bouncing nights at the Drome Birkenhead or the HardDock. Alright our kidda! Cheeky comment:Dont bother with "Back to the old school CD" (one with acidhouse face on), this is the one you want, good old Easygrove I mean Slipmatt pulls it out the bag! Joke slipman!

4.0 out of 5 stars All the best that you know you will remember, 22 Dec 2000
This review is from: United Dance Anthems Vol.2 1988-1992: Mixed By Slipmatt (Audio CD)
This compilation kicks off with the classic from the source, and gives you the best of 88 - 92 in dance music. It is a shame that Slipmat didn't mix the tunes in together with his usual crazy style, but what it lacks in mix it holds in nostalgia. It's a got to have for definate.
