I'm disabled and am unable to hold a camera, so thought this remote controlled head might do the job. If you are looking for the ability to move a camera/cam quickly look else where as its very slow moving.
The head has two modes, manual and auto. If you want to move a camera up or down or pan left/right you are able to do this using a connected remote control on manual mode. However, as stated don't expect this to be quick. On auto mode, the unit works without the remote and pans from left to right continously, but again don't expect this to be quick.
These units come from the U.S. so you'll need to make sure the seller sets the voltage up correctly depending how you want to pan in auto mode. For example, when mine arrived it was set up to rotate 360 constantly in auto mode. For some wanting to video 360 degrees constantly this might be fine, but for those wanting to use the unit for stills photography & video it needs adjustments enabling panning from left to right in auto mode. I retured my unit and the seller adjusted it to pan up to 180 degrees from left to right in auto mode. This setup was better for my needs and the seller (Easy Group Ltd) did this to their credit without fuss. They also refunded my postal costs which was most welcome. Before ordering i advise you are clear how you want the unit to move in auto mode.
The unit is battery powered taking four AA size batteries, no main adapter/cables are provided which didn't bother me because generally i use my unit outdoors. Can't say anything about the battery life yet. I think the unit is a little pricey at £99 , but my research found there are few makers of this type of tripod head and buying a similar unit from the U.S. would have meant import duty. The head generally serves my needs, so i gave it four stars. Wish it moved a little quicker though. All in all i would recommend it to those who have difficulty holding cameras or for those into video.
