4.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem 18 May 2004
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Union City has slipped under the net for most people, but on it's release was hailed under the tag-line of being Debbie Harry's first acting role. The story revolves around a couple (played by Dennis Lipscombe and Debbie Harry) who reside in a block of flats along with various misfits in 1950's America. Lipscombe's character is a paranoid who one day takes this to the extreme, resulting in tragedy. While this plays out, his wife begins to question her life with her husband.

This description does not do justice to the picture, as it would be very easy to give the story away, needless to say it is certainly worthy of a second, if not a first, look. Very darkly comic, a little love interest and a couple of twists along the way make this a picture worth seeing. As an extra the marvellous Pat Benatar (remember Love is a Battlefield?) puts in an appearance towards the end. What more could you wish for?

5.0 out of 5 stars Union City DVD from Tartan 28 April 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Tartan DVD came with a booklet about the making of Union City, an extract from the directors book. An excellent neo noir movie, and the dvd has very rare deleted shots & Debbie Harry's screen tests as extras.
