4.0 out of 5 stars Uncensored version? 3 Oct 2010
Format:DVD
I enjoyed this movie very much but am confused as to whether or not the American dvd release by Panik House is missing a crucial scene.

On the website [...] a scene is described which certainly was not in the version I just watched. There is supposed to be a
scene between central character Jung-Won and the husband of Yun,another main character,in which Jun's husband questions the sanity of his
wife and her possible role in the death of their child.

Having just watched the film I can tell you there is no such scene in Panik House Entertainment's release, despite the fact the packaging
clearly states that this is an uncut and uncensored version. It seems like a quite important scene and I cannot think why it should be
absent from the American dvd version.

Just to add to the confusion,Panik House lists the film's running time as ninety-six minutes when it actually ran for over two hours. Can
someone clue me in as to the whereabouts/existence of the missing scene and is there a complete version available elsewhere?

2.0 out of 5 stars A few minutes of horror 3 Mar 2009
There's about 15 minutes of horror film. But the rest of the 2 hours is made up of 2 confused people trying to come to terms with their histories which are related to the horror story portion by analogy (and the man's brief contact with the dead children). There was supposed to be a psychological reason behind the horror -- but it didn't strike me as particularly insightful. Instead it was dreary. The acting, even by Jun Ji Hyun, was dreary. The actions by the characters were dreary. The only sign of life comes from the fiancée -- a strong, dynamic performance by attractive Yu Seon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not 'A Tale of Two Sisters' 7 Oct 2009
By Kwaile
Format:DVD
Despite what the synopsis given above says, this is not the same film as 'A Tale of Two Sisters' under a different title. It is a South Korean film and was made in the same year (2003) as A Tale of Two Sisters, but beyond that (and the fact that it is a horror film) there is no connection. It is a completely different film by a different director, Lee Soo-youn. It's an above average supernatural horror film, with plenty of creepiness to keep fans of Asian horror (and eerie, understated horror in general) happy. It concerns a young man (Park Shin-yang) who begins seeing the ghosts of dead children, and his attempts to get to the bottom of the mystery with the aid of a narcoleptic shaman, played by Jun Ji-hyun (aka Gianna Jun of 'My Sassy Girl' and 'Blood: the Last Vampire'). Fans of quiet, creepy horror should find much to enjoy here.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit boring 9 Feb 2009
Format:DVD
I love oriental films, I watch a hell of a lot of them, and I am used to the slow plot and think this generally adds to the suspence. This film, however, took it a bit far, I enjoyed the story, but it was too long and slow. It was dragged out more than was needed, and this just added to the ambiguity of the story.
It's a shame, if it were compressed into a more reasonable timescale, I would have enjoyed it much more.
That's not to say that it was terrible, I'm glad I saw it, and don't shun it purely on this review, just don't expect it to be really exciting.

i wont say it is a horror movie .yes there are few images of dead children lying . but the main theme is not horror at all . Gianna Jun performance in this movie is very memorable and awesome :) . This movie is quite deeper and you cannot keep your eyes off from the movie for one second .Because missing one scene means you missed an important part of clue in the movie . The movie is almost 2 hours long .So if you are patient man/woman like me . Than buy this movie . You wont regret it and if you are fan of Gianna Jun .Buy it along with Blood: The Last Vampire. :)
