Product Description
The VIX2000 series from Power Inspired is a superb entry level UPS system. The 600VA model provides enough power for a high specification PC and ancillaries. The 1200VA model has twice the capacity and battery power, for longer runtimes, or connection of more equipment. An ideal entry level UPS system, the VIX2000 series comes complete with output lead, RJ11 modem/telecom lead, shutdown software and USB interface lead.

The mains power cable to Islay and Jura has broken and we rely on generators into the forseeable future, with all the unexpected fluctuations and breaks in supply that are inevitable. I wanted something that might avoid needless corruption or loss of work - as far as I can see, this unit does the trick. The scanty instructions were enough for even my limited skills (although the Product Number refers to the outside of the sleeve of the software, not to the Product itself!) and the unit seems to close the PC in a measured way. We get up to three or four power cuts on a bad day, sometimes none - I am quite happy with my purchase but note that I am using it on one stand-alone PC.

Highly recommend this neat little UPS unit for home use. It is very easy to fit and the software loads easily also.
The latter is to power down your PC in the event of a power outage of more than a minute or so, giving the PC a chance to save documents and close down programs properly before switching off.
It is very good value -- I have used a different make to protect my SKY box from power outages which are a daily event where I live: these cause regular interruptions of schedules and loss of recorded programs which were becoming infuriating. However this unit would do the job more cheaply and just as well just DON'T install the software!
One drawback is that the power sockets on the back of the unit are for 3 pin male computer power leads and there is only one spare once the unit is hooded up, which limits the option of adding other equipment which some other UPS have. However it does have 2 phone/fax sockets, and a USB connection.

Bought this because I wanted to keep my server safe.
This is pretty straight forward.
You can have 3 computer devices plugged in to this thing.
Its noiseless it comes with 1 power cable (to plug in from the ups to your pc) an installation cd (windows and linux compatable) and a usb cable to connect it all.
This makes sure your computer shutsdown proberly when the power goes out. It last about 10 min. Depending on what kind of power it recuires.
All in all I am very happy about it. Its a good price and it comes with everything you need

Save the day. Protect the hard drive etc
