More About the Author

After writing a series of racy historical novels under my own name I decided to adopt a pen-name and have a crack at writing crime fiction.

There are currently four DI Frank Lyle novels available. Second Chances, Heir to Misfortune, Unholy Alliance and Murder in the Wings. The fifth title Best Served Cold (as in revenge is a dish) is available to pre-order from Amazon in advance of a 23rd September release. I have also written 2 volumes of DI Frank Lyle Casebook novellas. The first three novels are available in a Box set edition (ebook only)

I recently completed a distance learning course in the theory of Forensic Science so I defy anyone who thinks I've been inaccurate to challenge me.

I am really confident that Best Served Cold is my best book yet.

I chose to set the series back in the 1980s and early 1990s a time when people weren't obssessed with technology and the latest gadgets and actually spoke to each other face to face.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pot Luck Review- GREAT READ!!!!!! 14 May 2014
By sheer luck, I got this book as part of Pot Luck Reviews. I am so excited to have read it.

I loved DI Lyle and all the other character from Ashbeck. The story moved well and was really engaging. Very Criminal Minds in part. Part mystery and part clergical education.

I do wish that I had a better understand of the police ranks in England but I can figure it out. I recommend reading this one and getting the rest.

5.0 out of 5 stars D. I Lyle Does It Again 25 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
The third in the British D.I. Frank Lyle mystery series, and boy is this one a doozy. High on the eeeuuuie scale -- shades of Criminal Minds!

A time of the big Diocesan ecumenical conference in Ashbeck. An Anglican priest is found murdered in the churchyard of St. Luke's. OK. Not just murdered. But mutilated in a truly ugggggg way.

Why would someone want to not only murder a clergyman, but in such a vicious manner? Why, indeed? Could it have been another cleric? The town was filled with visiting clergy. Could be anyone, but it was definitely personal.

Well, since the other D.I. in the department is away on his honeymoon, Superintendent Kingsley brought in Canon Thomas Rice who used to be a DS at York before leaving the police force for the church, to help out and be a liaison with the religious community, and in addition she brought in a DCI from the department in Oxford to help out. And boy, is he creepy! In so many ways.

The search for the killer is a difficult one, and the police are having trouble finding a starting point. But as one thing after another comes to light, we begin to see where we might have a suspect.

Once again, DI Lyle works the evidence and his resources to bring this case to a conclusion, but not without suffering a ......

OK. That's all you get. Go read the book. And ponder on the amount of crazy it takes to become less than human. Not as much as you might think.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Hit for DI Frank Lyle 30 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book as a gift from the author. Another hit by Julie B. Madison. The story begins about 6 months after the second book and the action is non-stop. After reading the other two books in the series, it was like being embraced by family. The story isn't just about the murder of a priest, it also about the relationships between the characters. The connection that Frank and Jayseera is still very strong and unwavering especiallly they have their daughter now. I like how Frank resolved his relationship with Jez (his stepson). All together it was another enjoyable read. I hope the author continues writing more about the engaging DI Frank Lyle!!!!
