4.0 out of 5 stars It's all here but it's not for beginners 31 July 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Those who are conscious and self-aware enough to really get something from Neil Kramer's thoughtful and readable book will in my opinion be those already on a path to a higher awareness or consciousness; those who already understand that there's a great deal more to reality and existence than is presented to us through the mainstream channels of everyday media, politics and religion. This is not your average new-agey, rainbows and unicorns book to be dipped into for a feel-good glow. There is some stark analysis here, hard questions and often no easy answers, but there are answers, within ourselves. Or indeed, self, if after all, we're all one anyway. Neil dares to ask the big questions: Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we going? Ultimately, his thoughts and theories stem from his personal journey, but there are some valuable insights and ideas here which any seeker after truth can resonate with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brimming with wisdom 12 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Neil's first book, The Unfoldment, is brimming with wisdom. He has been able to deconstruct the 'unfoldment', what some may call the spiritual journey or the evolution of consciousness, into an understandable way for those searching for spiritual insights & direction. His writing may appeal to those you have tread the path for a while, offering fresh or developed insights. He doesn't sugar coat the challenges or offer easy escapes or fixes, but instead invites the reader to explore the heart and the mind in a way that is the real exploration. We are invited to explore and challenge belief systems, whether internal or external, and to trace back to original woundings in a heartfelt way. This book may make a solid companion to those seeking mindful answers and are not satisfied with new age thinking. Neil has brought together many diverse and ancient philosophical & spiritual traditions & teachings into the now and unmasks our ultimate connection with All. I am looking forward to his next book which he promises will go deeper into the esoterica. Enjoy. Namaste.

3.0 out of 5 stars resonates, but lacks depth and empathy. 16 Jun 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Whilst the content of this book is well written, concise and genuine seeming, it (in my humble opinion) lacks empathy. Those of us travelling on the path come from a very diverse set of experiences and I get the distinct impression the writer has had a rather easier life than most. The events he describes as having had a traumatising effect on him to me seem like minor glitches.. So many people experience such severe trauma in life that it will take enormous reservoirs of strength and will to transcend the wounds and bring about transformation. This takes time, lots of love and hence, patience. It is by necessity an intuitive process, slowly growing into our true selves and thereby deconstructing the programming that has us attract so much adversity. People choose to read these types of books because they hope to find some validation of their inner work, resonance. They also are often hoping to be inspired and gain more insight, and this is where this book lets us down. It is a series of chapters focusing on the theories of "unfoldment" the path as I call it. There is virtually no practical application that can be helpful to people. Now, I know that this journey is all about inner archeology, and is essentially a very personal experience (all roads lead to rome eventually), but we are, through our connectedness and empathy able to help each other along the way occasionally. It is through our deepest wounds and suffering that we emerge with a great deal of compassion, and empathy for ourselves and others, mirroring the infinite LOVE that is the great spirit, the writer seems not to really get that yet. Rhetoric is fine but ultimately without those gifts falls short of touching base. So, a good book in some ways, but if you are looking for information that will connect to what you already know within but have trouble remembering than look for other material.
