Getting caught in her wedding dress by her drop-dead-gorgeous ex-husband is Reese Michael’s worst nightmare. Especially when her perfect-on-paper fiancé then cancels their wedding! Reese has spent years trying to forget how her marriage to Mason Hicks crashed and burned – yes, their chemistry was incredible, but a girl can’t live on lust alone! And what’s a jilted bride supposed to do when the one man she could never forget is back in her life, as irresistible as ever? Mason might be her own personal brand of Kryptonite, but surely life is meant to be lived a little dangerously…?

More About the Author

The summer she turned eleven Aimee left the children's section of the library, entered an aisle full of Mills and Boon, and pulled out a book. That story started a love affair that has followed her from her childhood in Florida to Alaska, Seattle, and finally South Dakota.

Armed with a fantastic part-time job as a physician in the Alaskan Bush (imagine a combo of Northern Exposure and E.R., minus the beautiful mountains and George Clooney), she enjoys being home in the gorgeous Black Hills of South Dakota, riding her dirt bike with her three wonderful kids and beyond-patient husband.

Her motto? Life is too short to do anything less than what you absolutely love. She counts herself lucky to have two jobs she adores and incredibly blessed to be a part of Harlequin/Mills and Boon's family of talented authors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wedding Season book 1 5 Sept. 2013
By Sarah (Feeling Fictional) TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
I have been a fan of Mills & Boon romances since I was a teenager and they always hit the spot when I'm looking for a fun, sexy read that is going to leave me with a smile on my face. So when I was offered review copies of the books in their new Modern Tempted range I jumped at the chance to read them. I always love a good second chance romance so I was looking forward to The Unexpected Wedding Guest and it was an enjoyable story.

Reese and Mason married young and neither of them were fully prepared for the trials of marriage. Mason spent most of their short time together on tour in Afghanistan and Reese missed him like crazy. When he came back suffering with PTSD and acting like a completely different man she didn't know how to help him and she was devastated when he pushed her away. She has spent years trying to put her past behind her and is finally ready to move on with her perfect fiancé who is just the kind of guy her parents always wanted her to marry. When Mason turns up looking for "closure" and her fiancé walks away just days before their wedding Reese is forced to face up to the fact that she never got over Mason but will she be brave enough to give him another chance?

I think what I loved most about this one is that both Reese and Mason had made mistakes in the past and they were willing to look at things from each other's perspectives to figure out exactly why their marriage ended the way it did. They were both able to own up to the part they played in the breakup and were willing to discuss things like adults which made me believe that they could build a future together.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Unexpected Wedding Guest by Aimee Carson 8 Sept. 2013
Format:Paperback
The last thing Reece Michaels expects days before her wedding is for her ex-husband Mason Hicks to turn up. They had married young and their marriage had been short only lasting one year, and for the past ten years Reece had been trying to put the past behind her and just as she has finally moved on and was days away from marrying fiancé Dylan, her past returns to her present.

However, when Dylan learns of Mason's arrival he chooses to cancel the wedding. Telling Reese to speak with Mason and to figure out what it is she wants and to give Mason a chance to explain what his reasons are for turning up after all this time.

Why would Mason show up now after all this time? What could he possibly want or need?

This is another of the Mills & Boon Modern Tempted series and it is a great story. What I liked about this book is that this story is linked to the first book I read in the series `Girl Least Likely to Marry' by storylines and characters. This is a book you will not be able to put down and it is filled with love, romance and well written love scenes. These pocket sized books can easily be read in one sitting and make a nice collection for any fans of Mills & Boon and romance novels. I really liked Reece and Mason's story this series of books is sensational. I can't wait to read another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable! 16 Nov. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Firstly I'd like to thank the publishers for sending me this book to read and give an honest review. Modern Tempted (previously known as RIVA) is a fabulous new series from Mills & Boon, these books are fun, flirty, sexy and romantic but with a contemporary edge. This particular book is the first in The Wedding Season quartet - four books following four college roommates as they rediscover their friendship and fall in love with their perfect match.

This book began with Reece's last day at University and a brief description of her relationship with Mason. They seemed like a passionate couple and I was keen to find out where everything went wrong for them. The story was told from both Reece and Mason's point of view which is something I always enjoy because I like to know what each character is thinking.

Ten years after University Reece was preparing for her wedding to Dylan, until Mason arrived and turned everything upside down! I found this so exciting to read because of the whole love triangle thing - the chemistry was hot and the sexual tension was almost palpable. I also grew to care about the characters, particularly Mason whose history was rather touching.

I can't wait to read the next book in The Wedding Season quartet!

This was an enjoyable, quick read that was completely unputdownable.

Enough sexual tension to have me panting, even when the characters weren't between the sheets...triple CHECK.
