Not for the average monkey- a great book!,

A great book full of exercises I have used to help break free from cultural binds and experience pure joy. Written with a lot of humor, this book really gets you going. Similar to Robert Anton Wilson in humor, with lots of *interesting* pictures. A great buy!

Christopher Hyatt invades your ego and grows like a parasite. After a while, you fell your ego being eaten away, and realize it is not the author doing the eating, but yourself. If you are serious about attempting to gain control/release over oneself, please buy this book. Even the introduction by RAW is worth the cost. One thing is for certain, that you must do the exercises. You will see results.

I would not recommend this book to anybody,

...I had been lead to believe this was one of the modern classics of western occultism, I was thoroughly disappointed and could not understand why everyone had raved on about it. There are 5 meditation exercise in the whole book, that are not particularly original and I have done similar before. The other supposed exercises appeared amateurish and naïve or just stolen and badly interrupted Eastern mystic practice. The whole book was simplistic and came across as almost childish, it has the writing style of a bitter and arrogate teenager. It was written in a highly condescending manor with a “holier than thou” attitude and was boarding on an unhealthy fanaticism and idolisation of Aliester Crowley (I studied Crowley in some depth and think the guy had some very interesting points and did a lot of very useful research but he is not worthy of idolisation, in fact no one is). I would certainly not recommend it to anyone. The only use you may find in this book is if you are a complete new comer to the subject, but then it would give you a very warped view of modern occultism and send you off on the wrong path, that’s if it doesn’t put you off for good (neither a good thing) and if you are even a little experienced then this book has nothing of value to add to your knowledge or practice. There a dozens of better books on the market to help guide you. For example the above mentioned Prometheus Rising, or the works of Phil Hine. I cannot understand why Bob Wilson and others have raved on about the book so much, if I have missed something please let me know!
