Format:Audio CD
Tom Robinson has all but retired from touring and recording, which is a great pity, but he has left behind some fantastic memories of some fun gigs and a back catalogue of some exceptional albums.(But if he changes his mind and rejoins the music rat race I for one will be buying his new product).
This CD is a good retrospective of his lesser known songs. OK there is no 2-4-6-8's or GTBG but it does have 'More lives than one' on it and as I have lived that song it is worth 4 stars just for that. But the rest of the songs are also a showcase of what a singing and song writting talent he was/is! He has the conviction of his lyrics, a bit like Billy Bragg but with a better singing voice.
If you only know Tom Robinson for his big hit(s)? Then broaden your mind and give this a try. If you already are a fan of his other stuff then you know what I am talking about and should have this album already.
