Personally, I was a big fan of Underworld as a movie and I am throughly looking forward to the sequel in December 05.
There are currently 2 soundtracks making the rounds, with this one providing all the instrumental music from the film.
Very bold, dark and strangely addictive, this soundtrack rocks it was through from one track to another, which should leave you surprisingly pleased on its completion.
Very recommended for those of you who like to kick back, shut your eyes and let your imagination wander away from the world.

Just like the other 2 scores, the score was brilliant. Dark and moody, with lots of feeling. shame it is so short, but other than that truly awesome.

A must for any Underworld Fan

I must have been quite engrosed in the film, coz' I only remember there being two tracks! This is the best soundtrack for a film I've heard in ages - it totally fits the film and is very much what you expect a vampire film sountrack to be - sometimes dark 'n' goth-y (Puscifier), a sometimes heavy (Dillinger Escape Plan), sometimes melodic. Even the score (Renholder) tracks are cool! It features a new track fom the one with lupine teeth, David Bowie, which is an unexpected highlight of the album. Buy this if you liked 'Queen of the Damned' and 'The Craft' soundtracks. A must-have album this year. Thanks to Roadrunner for putting together great album!

Battle music supreme 23 April 2008

This soundtrack is magnificent but dark never the less. The music rises like mist and fills my ears with clouds of color and sound, murky, pulsating and totally electrifying. I haven't listened to it for some time and when this album came on my iPod at random it shocked my senses during my moon lit midnight walk home. The music send a kick through my insides and by the time I got home I felt like the Terminator because this music makes you walk like something out of a movie.

My favorite piece is "Metamorphosis", totally unique and amazing. Hearing it makes me think of a throbbing industrial gestation of some mechanical monster. "Transformation" was also cool but short, I mean werewolf transformation on screen is impressive but when the music matches it all morphs into an unforgettable experience. You hear this music and you know something rotten is about to happen; it's time to run through the darkness. "Red Tape/ Agent Provocateur" is another cool little song, perfect for leather clad a vampire lounge.

In this soundtrack there's no subtle slithering in dark corridors, the music is eerie with an obvious feeling of approaching dread, you know that something big and bad is coming....Not every tracks it loud, some has whispers and monk's chanting, soft piano and violins ( "Eternity and a Day" for example), while others sound like an industrial revolution in the tombs occupied by the vampires. I totally loved it, highly recommended to fans of soundtracks and of fans this movie.

Another World For Underworld 15 Aug 2005
By R. Gibson - Published on Amazon.com

I loved this soundtrack. It was powerful when it needed to be and more ambient as well. I like this dual texture. I prefer moody yet touching and soft music, perfect for the horror writer. This soundtrack had both, also with the more dramatic action movie style. I would recommend it for those that want it all.

this was worth the wait! 14 Oct 2003

i couldn't believe that i overlooked Paul Haslinger as the composer for this score - i HAD to get it after finding that out! - when i did buy it i didn't waste time getting it out of the wrapping and playing it in my car ..... A STRONG INTRO i will say that - and trust me ..... this score has Paul Haslinger all over it!
i have been a crazed fan over the song Red Tape - i had a copy burned from the net and i couldn't understand why there was a sudden jump on my burned copy - then came the moment when i put in the CD and i let it play ..... THE TRANSITION WAS PERFECT!!! and then it made sense to me why my burned copy jumped - there was a instrumental piece playing before it
i gave it 4 stars only because of how quickly the tracks progress - don't get me wrong! - i understand why and i love the music - i just wish that some of the tracks were longer - but this is another masterpiece of Paul Haslinger ever since his previous album titled "Score"!

Nice soundtrack 23 Mar 2006

I really enjoyed this soundtrack. My favorite track is Eternity and a Day. Starts with delicate piano and crescendos into big sounding orchestra or maybe it's synthisizer or whatever but very nice. This is the scene after Selene killed Victor and it starts playing as she stands facing Michael and the other Lycans retreat. It represents this powerful moment of the two species comming together and not what it once seemed. I also enjoyed how the song Red Tape played throughout the trailers of this movie was included on the soundtrack. So many previews will have great music then nowhere on film. Now there are even companies that is what they do only provide short clips specifically for previews and really really stinks.

Beware of the sequel Underworld Evolution. It contained an extended version of Eternity and a day but is NOWHERE on that soundtrack. It is a different composer so that may have been why. The first movie had a more harsher sound representing the characters and scenes better than the sequel.

Good enough, worth the money and more! 31 Dec 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I bought this CD before seeing the movie (as the vampire movies fan I am). It was a surprise to see that it was good enough by itself. The music tells a lot about the movie. Another "plus" is the addition of "Red Tape" by Agent Provocateur, which is the song we all heard in the trailer of the movie, eventhough that song does not belong to the soundtrack (weird!)... Anyway, the song is very good. I can't help to see the trailer images in my head when hear it... If you liked the movie buy this CD and forget about the other one (with just songs).
