A great book on Williams syndrome,
By Debbie Riby (Stirling, Scotland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Understanding Williams Syndrome: Behavioral Patterns and Interventions (Paperback)
This is a really good book to provide a comprehensive overview of research on Williams syndrome. The book brings together research from various areas to compile a profile of abilities. the book looks at behavioural patterns of WS individuals and not only summarises a huge number of studies investigating both adults and children with WS, but also analyses the studies and research literature as a whole. Interventions are also suggested and where possible are assessed with psychological studies. It is great to see how abilities, deficit and strengths are pooled together to form useful interventions. This is both a comprehensive research review as well as a really easy read and great summary of a couple of decades of research.

Best book ever about Williams Syndrome!,
By Jessica O. - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Understanding Williams Syndrome: Behavioral Patterns and Interventions (Paperback)
This book is the "bible" for helping people with Williams Syndrome reach their full potential. Run, don't walk, to get a copy to help the teachers, therapists, and administrators in your WS child's life. This book will help you as a parent to intelligently advocate for your child and explain the quirks, peaks, and valleys that make up these delightful individuals with Williams Syndrome.

Insightful and Thorough!,
By Cynthia Grace Acosta "Ladybugmom" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Understanding Williams Syndrome: Behavioral Patterns and Interventions (Paperback)
This is an incredibly well written and researched book. It's probably the best book out there for kids with Williams Syndrom, and a lot of it applies to children on the Asperger's / Autism spectrum, too. If you've ever wished that your child came with a manual, look no further!
It not only explains what's going on, it gives you very concrete steps you can take to help your child learn, adjust and develop to his or her full potential. Highly recommended for any parent, teacher, therapist or pediatrician who will have the pleasure of meeting one of these charming (and occasionally frustrating) children.

Helpful book for my daughter,
By bj3 - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Understanding Williams Syndrome: Behavioral Patterns and Interventions (Paperback)
This was a gift to my daughter for Christmas, as she was researching Williams
Sydrome. The fact the authors had experienced working with Williams Syndrome children was reassuring to her. Since then a doctor testing her suggested she did not have it, but blood tests would show definitely. Thanks to Amazon for providing a way to access information about a variety of things. |
