Review

An excellent primer for the serious space enthusiast. The reader will need more than a passing familiarity with algebraic concepts, but this book is written in textbook format -- what the heck, it IS a textbook! If anyone ever planned to launch a satellite from their own backyard, this is the book that will guide them. Want to be an engineer-physicist? Want to be an astronaut? This is the book for you

Best of the kind 4 Feb 2009
Format:Hardcover
Best book of the kind I have ever read. It is difficult or maybe impossible to find something at this level here in Portugal. Either you find books that are basic and children driven or at an University level. There is nothing in between. This book fills the gap. And it it built so you can read it two ways: going deep into the subject or skipping the most dense parts and enjoy the descriptions about how it is done, without the technical details. The graphs and drawings are in such a way that I could easily visualize things I expected to be difficult to do so. Good pictures and at the end you can find the maths and the physics you had forgotten. I recomend this book for people that are preparing to go to an Astronautics course at University. You will get prepared without noticing it. For someone who is already there it's a good sidekick.
Have a nice flight

This is an excellent book for learning Astronautics. As much as we have so far covered has been really excellently presented and explained, it is very easy to understand, I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn Astronautics.
