3.0 out of 5 stars Book review 14 Jan 2012
By Jc Drew
Format:Paperback
I bought the book without having the opportunity to view a copy first. As the title states, it is basic. I would recommend 'An Introduction to Radiation Protection' by Martin and Harbison for those who require information from basic to in-depth level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basic and good 7 Mar 2011
By J. CALDERON - Published on Amazon.com

This is a good book with basic concepts about Radiation physics and chemistry. I recommend it for students in the field of nuclear sciences. The text is clear. We found sme historical events an a chapter with additional definitions. No mathematical problems.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Introduction 2 Jun 2013
By Jeffrey Lauper Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is the only clear and concise radiation book I have found. It clearly describes what the basic levels of radiation a person could receive and what the medical effects are. You could buy a 1000 page radiation safety book, but, as an aerospace engineer, I appreciated the simple descriptions that weren't clutter with extraneous information. In about 100 short pages, the author increased by knowledge of radiation safety many times over.
5.0 out of 5 stars I am enjoying this one. 16 Feb 2013

It is my topic of choice - so I enjoy seeing books not normally found in the classroom. It will be useful for future reference.
1.0 out of 5 stars Jr. high school level presentation 7 Jun 2012
By WJP - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The book is okay for someone with no science or math background, but no good for an engineering or science student. There are no equations and very shallow discussion. Not recommended at all.
