These questions and many more can be answered by understanding the motivations behind your rabbit's habits. Tamsin Stone draws on many years of experience working with rabbits to enlighten us about their fascinating and often puzzling behaviour. Stone breaks down common rabbit behaviours such as digging, eating, aggression, social interaction, and play and puts them in context to explain how rabbits' evolution as prey animals has shaped their instincts. Modern domestic rabbits still share many of the same behaviours of their wild cousins, and failing to accommodate them is the reason behind many conflicts between rabbits and their owners. Stone helps rabbit owners understand their pets' habits and how they can create an environment that gives their rabbit the opportunity to express natural behaviour patterns. In turn this will help you provide a healthy and happy life for your rabbit, and enjoy a peaceful and harmonious household.

Understanding your rabbit's habbits,
This review is from: Understanding Your Rabbit's Habits (Paperback)
An interesting read for the experienced rabbit owner and for those new to keeping rabbits to enable them to get to know their pet rabbit better and allow them to enrich the lives of any rabbits in their care. The author explains using well illustrated text the body language and behaviour of both domestic pet and wild rabbits and offers lots of advise to allow a rabbit owner to enhance the relationship that they have with them.

Best rabbit book available,

This review is from: Understanding Your Rabbit's Habits (Paperback)
I honestly believe that this is the best book for rabbit owners on the market. Uniquely it focuses on rabbit body language and packed full of illustrations it is very clear and easy to follow. It is ideal for teenagers but detailed enough to satisfy adults too.The lack of information available about how to interpret body language of dogs and horses is partly responsible for many animal welfare problems and this is definitely also the case for rabbits in the UK. Most owners simply can't tell what their pet rabbits are trying to communicate to them and because they don't understand all the amazing things that rabbits do, all too often the life of a pet rabbit is to be confined to a hutch in the corner of a garden. Woefully inadequate. This book covers body language but also puts it into context of rabbit care - for example the section on fear covers how to recognise a frightened rabbit and then how to minimise the chance of making a rabbit fearful. This book will encourage responsible ownership that enables rabbits to behave as they are meant to and is a must for anyone interested in bunnies.
