A nice time filler for the end of a lesson to enforce those spelling rules that often get overlooked. Incredibly good value for money, lots of information here, and basic exercises. Can be used with a teacher or with a parent, the book does the explaining, and has answers just in case.
The only negative is that it is not very exciting, rather dry, which is why I fill with it rather than use it as the main frame of a lesson.
Overall a worthwhile buy.

As always Schofield and Simms have come up trumps. It is broken down into small chunks and teaches how to learn to spell, rather than rote learning of spelling words - brilliant.

My daughter is home schooled so i do rely on educational books for support. I can highly recommend this book, as the layout is easy to follow and my daughter,who is only 8,doesn't have a problem using it. I keep my original copy as a test book but photocopy the relevant pages to be worked on. Buying via Amazon will save you money, as you can expect to pay double at other retailers.
