A short book about depression, written by a UK psychiatrist. Much cheaper than other self-help books on depression. Being short can be an advantage, but also means there isnt much detail. That may suit some people and/or as an introduction (for both of whom it would be 5 stars) You will want something else if you want some detail- this could be a start

It provides a short overview of a wide range of topics. The straightforward style and short sections may make it a good choice if you have poor concentration. The layout of short lines can make it slightly tricky to read, but this is not a big problem.

Psychological therapies and counselling are only listed, rather than having more information about how they are used. There is more information about medication and other treatment options. The section of what will be provided by your GP is perhaps rather optimistic, but its worth knowing what should happen!
