Format: Paperback
It's chock full of useful information and the algebra it teaches is very extensive, but is let down by a few things.

It's too small and compact. It's like a cheap novel, and no good as a reference book really. Seems like it will fall to pieces. I would pay double for this book if it was twice as big with less pages.

The solutions don't have any methodology, so if you get a bit stuck, you really have to fight your way to the answer. This isn't helped by the fact the chapters don't go into everything in enough depth that the exercises demand. There are often over 30 excersises per section and they get harder and harder, going beyond what you were taught in the section.

Good if using as a workbook alongside a proper textbook, don't bother if not.

I've enjoyed this book, but another reviewer complained that the answers to the questions don't include the working. Which proves very frustrating when you can't work out how the answer was arrived at

What can I say about this book except it is brilliant, it is as simple to understand as all of the understand series of books. if you wish to teach yourself then this is the book to use.

I am a 20 year old male from the UK one year into a four year engineering diploma, I purchased the 'Understand Algebra' book a few months ago along with 'Understand Trigonometry' and 'Understand Mathematics'.

I have been very happy with the content, it has been written in an easy to understand format and the three books together are light and small enough to carry around with me at college. I feel like I have an advantage in maths lessons and even some exams, when many of my fellow students are left bewildered I have the upper hand with my pile of maths book.

This were initially a panic buy after being raped by an exam, since these have arrived I have had no problems. Would recommend to anybody in a similar situation to myself, best bought with a couple others from the same range.
