Product Description

Synopsis

Being a thief makes it difficult to meet the right girl. And when you do, something always gets in the way. Like finding yourself trapped underground, caught in a shoot-out, with the police after you and only a supernatural killer to protect you. And if you somehow survive all that, you've still got to persuade her to part with her phone number. "Underlife" is a fast, short, sweet, tense runaway train of a thriller.

1.0 out of 5 stars very short book 5 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
This was monumentally disappointing. Having read the previous two books in the Adept series I was looking forward to this arriving, only to be horrified to see it was only 70 pages long- what is the point of that? A waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars the perfect place to start 5 Oct 2008
Format:Paperback
I read The Adept on a trip and could not put it down, Robert Finn has created a brilliant fantasy world within which to weave his plots. His use of the concept of magic is unlike any I have ever read before and is higly intellectual and appeals to the adult rational mind--it is a believable force as yet "unexpalined" but seemingly natural and devoid of the traditional trappings of hocus pocus. I was overjoyed when EX MACHINA appeared because it followed the same theme only GOT EVEN BETTER!!! In fact I tried emailing Snowbooks to try and contact Mr. Finn to beg him to write more! With this third book the author has provided the reader with the perfect introduction to his creation. I advise every one to read the books, but PLEASE begin with UNDERLIFE, it is not the most gripping of the three but is a perfect place to start. If Mr. Finn reads this review I hope he will email me as I would love to correspond with him and try to talk him into continuing with the series--it is the thinking man's Harry Potter!!

1.0 out of 5 stars interesting 28 Mar 2009
By Gareth
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
For some reason, I found myself buying a copy of this and as it's less than 100 pages, felt I could afford the time to read a genre I never normally read.

Well, I really did enjoy it and would give it 4 stars, if that part of the review could be edited on the amazon site. Crime and violence aren't my thing at atll, but I have to say this novella was very fast paced and I really *did* want to know what happened next; as I felt concern for the fate of the characters Rachel, Matt and, to some degree, Kieran. (and also the mysterious Gary).

Being a softy at heart, the will-it-happen question over the romantic fate of R & M drew me in much more than the crime/violence part ;-)

But what I really want to know is what happens next with R & M??? Perhaps Mr Finn would kindly email me to let me know if he'll be writing any more on those characters from "Underlife".....
