Review

"Another solid procedural from Rowson, with a little kick of spy stuff for the adventurous" Kirkus Reviews "Rowson successfully pilots the complex storyline, filled with wild speculations and a slew of suspects, to a fitting conclusion" Publishers Weekly "Rowson offers up a thorny, multifaceted plot; a profusion of unusual twists; and plenty of fast-paced, knuckle-biting action" Booklist

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series 15 May 2013
Format:Hardcover
I am an avid reader of all sorts of crime fiction but the Andy Horton series has been one of my favourites from the start. Whilst other authors seem to have gone to increasing lengths to shock with a graphic portrayal of violence Pauline Rowson remains true to a more traditional style.
The Portsmouth setting is wonderfully captured and the plot is complex enough to keep anyone guessing. Horton's interesting back story adds another layer making for a very satisfying read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner 29 April 2013
Format:Hardcover
This is one of my favourite crime series and this is the best book yet. Fast paced and a real page turner.
I like the sub plot about his missing mother, and am looking forward to the next book to see how that develops.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great procedural murder mystery. 22 Feb 2013
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Set against the stunning backdrop of the south coast, once again Portsmouth succumbs to the seedy criminal underworld of murder and intrigue. This is the best book in the series to date, and can not only stand alone as a great read, but is a must for those readers following Andy Horton in his quest for answers to his hidden past. Fast paced from beginning to end and totally gripping, Pauline Rowson can always be relied upon to give us a great story.
Horton is a modern day 'Bergerac' and should definitely be on TV. I can't wait for the next instalment.
